Once you get past the withdrawal stages, its not that bad. I wanted to play through MGS4 again, and an sdtv was all I had :P

Games and videos look awesome on my 32" standard TV - I have no reason to throw away money on a HDTV.

BF: Bad Company is awesome BTW :)

ReverseCycology

only way you can actually see the difference between 1080i and 1080p is if you have anything with a 42" HDTV and up. other than that, most games look best being played in at 720p.

in fact, when i bought by hdtv, i bought a PS3 soon after to fully test it out with blu-ray .. plus, MGS4 was coming out soon as well

when i'm off to uni, i'll obviously not have a hdtv, so i'll use my 360 with my PC monitor

Yep, we have a Sony 72 incher in the movie room, and a Samsung 46 incher, and I could tell the difference very well. But yeah 720 is just the sweet spot still.

Of course. But I hate really large televisions. I prefer my 26" Samsung LCD and a beanbag in the floor up close.

No. It doesn't make a difference to me, I'm not spending hundreds on some HDTV when I have other things to focus on and an SDTV that looks perfectly fine.
