Is it just me, or is the Wii essentially collecting dust in all of our Closets?

It's a shame, but similar to the game cube, the Wii has these huge game droughts, and for months at a time, my Wii get's no play. I've got Brawl. I've got metroid, Galaxy. But Then... What? I can't really bring my self to buy most of the so called "games", Like My _________ Trainer, or "Big Beach sports" or Extreme Jenga.

Sure, there are ports. You can play Lego Indy, or Guitar hero. But for alot of us, it makes more sense to pay the extra 10 bucks, to get a game that looks and sounds better, without the tacked on Motion controls, for either 360 or PS3.

I know that the Wii is leading in sales. Theirs no question of it. But After Wii sports gets old, it's over. Just leaf through the System wars pages. When was the last post about the Little nintendo? When was the last time the Wii made the front page of IGN or Gamespot?

Wow. These threads keep getting dumber and dumber every time I log on to GS. I wonder how many more of these uninformed posters will continue to falsly believe that other gamers are in the same frame of mind as they are?

Oh I'm sure the people that bought one are staring at their shoes right now wondering what the hell happened.

The thing's just a plain disappointment---so much so that I'm actually ALMOST able to NOT regret buying a PS3 because the Wiis were out of stock.

I was expecting Playstation 2 all over again, with sales like that, third-party support should be phenomenal. It's an absolute accident of epic proportions.

The best thing for all of us to do would be to stop buying (and stop looking for...be kind to your local retailers' employees) the damn things.

I dunno. Just my opinion.

i still play my wii from time to time

after finishing NG2 and MGS4, i'm now playing okami

i agree that there's a lack of quality titles on the horizon, especially from nintendo

but E3 is not far away .. wait until after its over before judging the wii .. i expect nintendo to make a few big announcements

Seeing at least one silly thread like this every single day here n System Wars is startng to irk me. You have 3 Wii games and then name games I have never even heard of to make it seem like that the Wii games you already possess are the only Wii games worth purchasing.

I play my wii very rarely, but when I do its a barrel of laughs.

Mainly with friends who are non-gamers after a few drinks, or mario and sonic olympics with my girlfriend.

Great fun either way.

I care about a new Zelda, Starfox, or Donkey Kong. That's as far as my allegiance goes.

I just got Twilight Princess a couple days ago so i've been playing my Wii now, but before that it was in the box for 4 months after i got all the stars in Galaxy. It just doesnt have anything like COD4 or MGS4 that would make me consider playing it as much as my PS3.

Myself, and my family play our Wii all the time. Yes, Wii sports gets old, but there are several great games out there. I beat Super Paper Mario the other day (awesome game), and I'd like to get SMG and a few others. So sorry, there are several (million) people who care about their Wiis.

Hard to say. But it's definte proof that SW needs to have stricter punishments. Because this thread is just flamebait.

Agreed. I scratch my head in bewilderment as to why GS does not punish flamebaiters. The Wii bashing is out of hand here.

The only days I don't use the Wii is when I get home from work late. I'm down 8 more pounds from Wii-fit, enjoying James Bond 'Everything or Nothing' on the GC and I'm still cracking away at strikers. Soon I get Mario Kart.

Nintendo has done a great job of keeping the momentum going with the releases this year. They are doing just as well as the other systems if not better in some areas.

Wii leads because its unique, not overly expensive, and attracts people who might not normally purchase a gaming system. I personally think thats cool. I give them loads of credit for their innovation. That said, I sold mine and got a ps3 about 2 months ago. Just wasnt into the wii type of games, wanted to play stuff like cod4 and missed my sports games and button mashing.

I got love for the wii, but just not as my only next gen system....found I just wasnt playing it.

Wow. So narrowminded. This is the sort of attitude which makes the media attack the gaming industry. it's no wonder why Nintendo haschosen this current route.

All the sales prove is that there is a lot of five year olds out there. oh and don't forget old people that like Wii arthritis treatment.

oh and before anyone gets even the slightest bit angry at me, I had a Wii and I traded it, so yes, the above is in fact . . . a joke.

I've mainly been playing GC games on my Wii,although that's primarily due to a majority of the games on my Summer Games List are GC games in the first place. And considering GC games can be found pretty cheap now,I've been buying a lot more lately, which means less money for all those shiny new Wii games.Oh well...I could always fire up No More Heroes again. That game never gets old.:D

As for first party, Nintendo aren't telling us anything until E3.

Agreed. I once thought the Wii would just be that perfect complementary console - instead, it's now becoming something much much more substantial by its own strengths.

When I stated my family and myself play Wii, I intended to portray that many people care about their Wii's. We play for family game night. Both my daughter and wife greatly enjoy playing and it's a way for me to get my daughter interested in the same hobbies I am, so that one day we can play more challanging games together.

When I stated my family and myself play Wii, I intended to portray that many people care about their Wii's. We play for family game night. Both my daughter and wife greatly enjoy playing and it's a way for me to get my daughter interested in the same hobbies I am, so that one day we can play more challanging games together.

Good for you man, if more families did things together like this IMO kids wouldn't such crazy things that are being done now. Also I am guessing this is what Nintendo was aiming for.
