Does anyone else agree with me that Maximo is the hardest game ever?

My friends and I always use Maximo as the bar for difficulty. For whatever reason, the old PS2 game just was freaking hard a few years back when I played it and now, when we watched the guy playing Uncharted on On The Spot, we were like "man that game must be Maximo hard!" when we saw him getting killed so often.

Anyone else think this way, or do you have a different hardest game ever?

Lost planet for me (bosses), but once you get a strategy going for the bosses you should be fine.

Gradius 3 - Arcade Version. That game is flat-out ruthless.

Total Carnage. Even in the extremely unlikely event that you make it all the way to the end, and defeat all 5+ of the last boss' forms, the 'escape' sequence is almost literally impossible without a co-op player.

That game was awesome.

As for hard: Ikaruga and Mars Matrix... the first Mega Man, the original Ninja Gaiden games on NES, Contra III on Hard mode, Contra Hard Corps, and yeah, I've heard the Ghouls n Ghosts / Ghosts n Goblins games are super hard...

Ninja gaiden, is the hardest I can think of right now eventhough I know there are lots of harder ones out there.. Nes games can make you soo angry lol. Pity difficulty has gone down so much since then.

Nothing, in my mind, will ever, EVER be as hard as battletoads. That game was like trying to commit suicide by holding your breath. I never got past the bike riding part, it was just ridiculous. And I think that was like the 2nd level or something.

You might be able to make an arguement for Maximo as the hardest game of this generation, but I can think of at least a dozen 8 and 16 bit games that were tougher.

OMG YES BATTLETOADS.

The bike stage is nuts... and I think there is another one later on. I usually found warp zones on the bike stage, but then ended up on that !#$%&*#!ing snake stage! AAAAGGGHHH!!!

I loved battletoads. But the problem with it was this: You had to play it like every day just to get good enough and memorize stuff enough to advance.

I put it down for a few months, and realized that I sucked again, so I just stopped.
