Well I guess we'll put Resistance 3 in the list of Great Games that No one Played.

Resistance 3 is a very mediocre sub-HD game. I'm glad it was a financial flop.

The horrible sales of R3 and A4O will teach Insomniac not to release anymore mediocre games.

Resistance 3 was a waste of time, money, and energy. Total turd. I loved the first two, but they really boned the last entry.

R3 is an amazing game. one of the most underplayed this year. I will be getting the DLC as soon as its out.

the things I love about the resistance games are

1) each game is totally different from the others in terms of gameplay and sty|le. you can tell this by the massive divides in the fanbase. personally I love all the games for different reasons.

2) great gunplay. all the guns have secondary fire, it has unique ideas (like the auger and the bullseye), it has great ironsights, it has great sound (which is different in each game), and it manages to have kick while still feeling arcadey. its basically what halo gunplay should be by now

3) a simple premise which is executed in a unique way. it is kinda campy, but still manages to be serious and even disturbing at times (like when youre going through darkly lit houses where entire families have been put into pods and the radio announcer is having a mental breakdown). the sty|e changes from a WW2 era setting, to a more technologically advanced version of the 50s, to a post apocalyptic setting inspired by Cormack McCarthy's "the road." yet it has underlying themes so that it still feels like the same franchise

4) brutal AI that flushes you out with grenades in a millisecond and rushes you without mercy.

5) hardcore difficulty in general. especially with the first game. that game will put hair on your back.

6) great boss battles (especially in resistance 2)

On-topic; is it worth me slogging through the first two resistances? Or should I just play the third one? I know what happens in the first two, I watched my mate play most of it :PDarthJohnova

dont listen to him. at least play resistance 2 first. it has a superb campaign and it will give you more of an appreciation of what is going on in R3.

the first game is really good too, but it is the hardest FPS ever made. no exaggeration. its a man's game

Honestly though, those sales are expected when the first 2 games are crap. At least R2 had some decent shooting though, the first was horrible.

I saw that R3 was turning out to be a really quality game though, so I got it regardless of the first 2. But most people aren't even going to bother of looking at it, after the first 2 and the sheer number of FPS's out there.

I can't buy them all, hell I really haven't bought more than 2 new releases from this year... Killzone 3, and LA Noire oh and a retail copy of Amnesia ok so 3 releases. Other than that I mean I only have so much money to allocate to games. R3 looks alright but with there being so many other better games out there right now it's gonna have to wait.

And for those who say "I want it but I'm waiting for a price drop." It was on sale for $20 a few days ago on Amazon, $28 the past couple weeks before that. Deals are there you just have to learn to shop.

I'm sure some do, but I'm not one of them.
