Does anyone even care about Zelda on the Wii or Mario on the 3DS?

I bet these two games get the lowest sales of any Zelda or Mario game in Nintendo history. The mass casuals who own the Wii wont buy Zelda, leaving only the few remaining hardcore Wii owners to pick up the slack. The 3DS is going nowhere and the installed base is very, very low. Im not talking about the subjective quality of these games, just the potential audience.

Even IF they sell poorly (which they won't), they'd still outsell most other "hardcore" franchises on the HD Twins.

Of course, my crystal ball is broken, so I'd have to borrow yours if you want to know more.

I don't doubt Zelda will sell pretty well; There's a huge install base, and enough Wii owners that know and love Zelda games out there.

casuals dont buy Mario????New Super Mario Bros and Mario Kart sold 20 million units each on the DS and 20 million units each on the Wii.

I agree that no one cares about those games releasing on the 3DS ... but Zelda has a large installed fanbase. It will sell 1 million at least.

How many people bought the Wii just to play Zelda? 20% of Wii owners? Let's go with that. That's 18 million people eagerly awaiting SS. Let's also say that 10% of casuals will pick it up, that's another 9 million. Potentially 27 million units sold, not too bad.

Sure it may not be the highest rated Zelda ever, but it most definitely wont be the worst. It will also sell extremely well. Guaranteed.

Well I'm not even that big of a fan of the wii and skyward sword will be the first game i've bought for the wii in 1 or 2 years. And I've never played a zelda game before...

All those sales and good/great scores prove nobody cares about Nintendo franchises anymore. This thread makes a lot of sense.

Don't care. With games such as TW2, Skyrim, BF3 and Dark Souls (what i'm playing right now at least) its hard to care about yet another mario or ugly looking Zelda game. They both will sell well tho, but sales won't improve its graphics or gameplay so meh.silversix_

Zelda I've thought was pretty meh for a while. Only ones I've been able to play through were Link to the Past, Minish Cap, and Ocarina of Time (which I thought was the least fun). Wind Waker I played for about an hour before I was bored out of my mind, and I never touched Twilight Princess. I will not be buying Squidward Sword.

As with Mario it's pretty much the same deal. Loved Super Mario 64, liked Super Mario Sunshine, and I just thought SMG was ok for the most part. It didn't leave me wanting more, so I found it easy to put down, and stopped playing. I also didn't like New Super Mario Bros on the DS. Super Mario 3D Land is just a "maybe". I don't even own a 3DS, and I might get one for years, so who knows?

Anyone who has a Wii who remotely cares about Nintendo games is getting Skyward Sword. Seriously, do you know anyone who's actively decided to skip it? I don't. Also remember that, even if many of them are casuals, there are almost 90 million Wiis out there in the world, far more than any previous Nintendo console.

And Super Mario 3D Land is the first real killer app for 3DS (that isn't a remake), so it'll sell. More than that -- it'll push hardware. This has already happened in Japan.

The only reason I got a Wii last christmas for Zelda. So yeah.CoolSkAGuy

The last Nintendo game I followed closely was Endless Ocean: Blue World. I have no interest, nor have I ever had any interest in the Zelda franchise. Mario games are occasionally decent, but I have virtually no plans on ever buying a 3DS... it looks like an awful piece of lame hardware.

I've lost my faith in Nintendo, only 1 zelda game for the Wii release (technically TWLP was also for the GC) and it's at the end of its life span...I'm sorry thats a slap in the face to people who supported them...

SNES only had one zelda, as well. Let's not forget that Nintendo put out the Galaxy series. I will say that Nintendo ventured from their typical crowd with the wii, but wasn't it to recoup losses? I still support them as a company. I actually JUST bought a wii and am having a great time with it. There's some real gems on the console, plus it is a lot different.
