games should be judged in this order
1) gameplay
2) Story (depending on the genre)
3) Graphics
Unfortunately in SW seems like Graphics are the main aspect which people have interest in, so that they claim some sort of ownage specially when talking about exclusives on their beloved system(s)... (i admit am one of those sometimes) :)
I can't play two consoles currently because the graphics are so dated that they affect the Gameplay. The 2600 which you can't even tell what anything is and the PS1 I can play some PS1 games but the ones that were in full 3D I can't play just because I think for 3D it needs to be N64 quality or Higher, for 2D it needs to be anything that was made after the 2600.
But thats my Opinion.
Yea just wondering... you know, theres alot of good games out there which arn't exactly the prettiest. Why can't this graphics>Gameplay mentallity just go away?!paulie69This is a Forum where people come to argue about what is coming in the future. People spend more time talking about games that arent out and they don't own then they probably do actually playing the games they own. So you see the problem with talking about the gameplay of say, GOW 3, FFXIII, Mad World, Halo Wars is the fact that nobody actually has hands on experience with these games. But of course everyone has accesss to screenshots and fanboys use anything against other systems so you have people talking about the only thing they currently know about these new games which is the graphics. In the end most people would never really put up with a horrible game just because it looks good but its all fanboys can talk about with their limited resources.
Graphics are very, very impoarnt.JungleShootingCompetent technical graphics are extremely important. Very few people look at graphics past rhe colors they see on the screen. If a game is choppy, glitchy, freezes, or just doesn't work due to graphical problems then it doesn't matter how great the game play is.
yes me
I recently played some N64 and dreamcast games for the first time ever, and i really did enjoy them way too much,I don't mind graphics that much, but it hurts the eyes from ps1 generation sometimes because 3d was not so mature.
Although I own a 360(i keep playing originals) i poped in cod5 at a friend's house the other day, and i was amazed by the graphics!
i used to say there is no difference really between ps2 generation and this one, but now i take that back
IMO, Gameplay>Graphics. Not to say graphics don't matter, but I would rather I game that plays well and has a great story than a game that looks pretty and has no substanceAndYOU
Agrees with you & the others. You can have the most incredible graphics &/or extra goodies in a certain game, but the game will still come playing off as ****. A really good example would be Final Fantasy XII on PS2. Neither of those two equal to gameplay. Back in the Atari, NES & Sega Master system days, it wasn't all about graphics. It was all about gameplay.
