Does anyone here own a 360 but doesn't subscribe to Xbox Live?

I see most multi-platform owners on here get the 360 for multi-plats and get the PS3 for exclusives and single player. I'm kind of the opposite. I use the 360 for single player and exclusive games like Halo, Gears, stuff like that, and I use my PS3 for all online games along with the exclusives. I get multi-plats on both, but the ones that have online options I get on PS3. I think PSN is good, it's where my friends are and I don't want to pay for Live.

Right here, there aren't much games with multiplayer that I can't get anywhere else to justify 40 bucks a year.

I had a bad experience with them so I don't anymore.

They automatically debited my card every month and they purposefully make it hard to turn off auto-renewal. You have to call them up and get them to turn it off.

Instead I just cut them off and they suspended my account for a month.

I play MP almost exculisvely on PC anyway, just local split screen on the Xbox for me now.

having a 360 but not getting live is pointless imho not sure why anyone would do that. I believe live makes the xbox live experience. Thats like going to the airport and not flying on the plane.

Me, cant get the 360 to connect to the internet. But then again, I dont have any games that I would really want to play multiplayer on.

I played it because i got my 360 the same time period the beta was open ;) ( got my beta from a friend from GS ).. couldnt care less if you believe me or not, i played the beta, one dude on here whos well known saw me playing it also :oops: come to think of it when did betas ever save on your profile? they dont even have achivments :oops:

None of my friends have Xbox 360, they all play PS3, so using the PSN for all my online games is the best choice for me, regardless of the fact that Live costs $60 bucks.

A really cool thing about Xbox 360 is that it has a large emphasis on local multi-player whereas the PS3 doesn't. The PS3 exclusive games don't really have local multi-player, games like Uncharted, Killzone, Infamous, Metal Gear Solid, Demon's Souls, God of War, they are all amazing titles, but they are either single player focused or online multi-player focused.

Since all my friends own PS3 and not 360, this is cool because when they come over, all the 360 exclusives I have like Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, Gears of War 1 and 2, Halo 3, ODST and Reach, Perfect Dark Zero, Crackdown 1 and 2, all have a strong emphasis on local multi-player.

I'm not subscribed. I buy cards if I want Gold, but I rarely play multiplayer on my 360 anyways.

oh god is it that hard to get? :P.. when you get a 360, and is new to live you get a free 1 month to play online, with that month i used it to download demos, played the beta and even gears of war 1 and 2 ( both games were dead online btw ), the moment my subscribtion was over i never went back to online, heck i havent even touched my 360 for a while now due to having nothing interesting coming to it, i can get everything on ps3.

I used to be a subscriber, I even thought it was worth it, but then I got my PC and started playing online with it and realized how stupid it is to pay for live. So I cancelled it. You're paying for the amazing privilege of playing in crappy p2p connections. gtfo

Though to be honest I subscribed for 3 months again some time ago, it was just to play Blur, as the community kind of died on the PC and I don't own a PS3. So I was kind of forced to do it. But isn't that the reason most subscribe to live? They're basically forced to pay to play online if they don't own a gaming PC or a PS3. It sucks.

I never have and never will pay for it, but if it's any consolation :D I don't pay for PSN online service either.

it get a little confusing when a person has been caught in loads of contradictions about their xbox live, xbox 360..etc so its hard to put alot of it together.

I only recently upgraded to Gold for video chat with my family abroad. I asked my mom if she would rather sit in front of the PC to chat or on my brother's 360 with the TV, she hates computers.

Gave Reach a go online but then I quickly went back to BC2 on my PS3. I played the hell out of Halo 2 last gen but Halo's online experience is too slow and clunky for me now.

I just got my Xbox 360 a little while ago. I will NEVER pay for live.:)I borrow my friends Xbox 360 games so MS does not earn a dime from me. :D I have a lot of games to get to but some are on the back burrner, while others I may not get to as I have too many I want to play and little time to play them :cry: wife and kids... ow well.

me, i never will pay for it especially when my ps3 does it for free. i have an arcade model and haven't even bought a hard drive for it, its used for single player games only that are either cheaper for the 360 "like mass effect 2" or xbox exclusives, which lately hasn't been alot.

THe last ime i had XBLwas february 2010. Speaking with my wallet since. PSN all day.

Umm... duh? lol

I personally dont, I dont usualyl play online on consoles, feels pointless. If I play online its on PC. My consoles are for great single player exclusives.

I dont have gold atm but have previously been a subscriber since the service started. Recently though i barely play any console games online so i have no need for it.

My subscription ran out sometime this year. I haven't bothered to renew because there's nothing that I feel is worth paying the $50 for.
