Does anyone still think the Kinect is good for gaming?

I was watching THIS video and it just reminded me that the Kinect is still out there. It completely fell off my radar. Is anything coming out for it in terms of quality games? Just curious. I feel bad for those who bought it for the purpose of gaming.

It just seems... odd... that Microsoft would just 'let' this thing die off since they spent so much money on it.

Now that I think about it, people are probably holding off on making things for it on the 360 and are just waiting for the next Xbox. If so, will anything good even come out for it then? With a lack of physical inputs, I think not.

It has potential if it is utilized with other technology. But, as it stands now, the Kinect is comparable to feces; useless for gaming.

kinect is cool. Hopefully it will be much better in next xbox. I personally enjoying playing kinect once and while and even my 4 year old niece loves it. I turn it on and she goes nuts

That video talking about the robot Disney has sounds cool. There is also a clothing company that is working with kinects and trying change the way changing rooms are. So instead of walking around a store and wondering if you look good in that or what. You just walk in this changing room and the kinects in the room build 3d model of you and shows you all the clothing options the store as. There is even personal hacks of videos on youtube is pretty cool. This is why microsoft built the kinect and from the beginning they wanted it be used for everything This is why they encouraged people to hack the kinect. NOT kidding.

p.s when i say it's cool i mean it's cool NOT great lol

If used for the right games then yah, but that goes for any control method.

I mean it's like any other addon in gaming. Lightguns aren't good for platformers, but they sure make Duck Hunt, House of the Dead, and Time Crisis more awesome!

Honestly I think it's really just an accuracy problem for now. All console motion controls (Wii Remote, PSMove, and Kinect) are really innaccurate, so even though the idea is potentially awesome the execution is dreadful at times.

It's has potential. But so far it has way too many nuisances.

It has incredible potential, but it's more proof of concept at this point.

Never thought it was in the first place. It's got it's good points, but not a single one of them would convince me to give up my controller.

The simple fact that people have purchased a product means absolutley nothing in terms of their opinions on said product or the products quality. Did you know that more people purchase food from McDonalds than a 5-star resturant... does that make the McDonalds food better? There might actually be someone that prefers the MDs food over the 5-star food and actually have the opinion that MD's food is superior, but come on... (notice what I did there?)

Also, I didn't ask if people liked it or if it was selling (sold...) well, I asked if there are any good games coming out for it in the future. Could you please provide some examples to help your argument out?

it is about as good for gaming as the virtual boy was good for gaming lol !

The ideas behind the kinect could be very useful for gaming. But the technology isnt quite there yet. Both being able to use gestures and voice for quick commands could greatly help the console games overcome the crippling handicap of limited buttons.

for the type of games i like its practically useless.. however like other posters said it does have potential..

Eh, for casuals, it worked well enough but I guess but TBH, me thinks it's served more as a beta for what I'm convinced will be the real deal, Kinect 2 :o but even with that said, next gen, I'll likely still just want mah trusty old game pad and just wow if MS somehow finds a way of improving 360's cntroller for next gen. :P
