If there is one company I would like to see back in the console race it's Sega. I would love for Sega to get its act together and start creating a Sega Saturn II or a dreamcast II ( I would prefer a Sega Saturn II) I have all the systems available right now and I must say that I am not impressed with any of them. The Wii is ridiculously over rated the ps3 makes a better blu ray / dvd player than a video game machine and the 360 is ok. The system I love the most is the Sega Saturn Panzer Dragoon is a great game and Nights was just a master piece. The console market need a new system as of now in my opinion there has been a lack of creativity. I want Sega to relase a new system so I can play a decent sonic game I don't want anymore crappy sonic games or poor remakes of classic games such as Nights. Sega should create a new console to encourage it's self to create great games like it once did. Ever since sega went third party all of their games have been unoriginal and boring. I want sega to make the the Sega SaturnIIhttp://img.gamespot.com/gamespot/shared/emoticons/smile.gif

Hell no. It wouldn't have a chance. 3 systems on the market is enough. APPLE was thinking about making a game console or handheld, but they would be wise to stay out of the gaming market as well. They have their IPod & IPhone. They should be happy with that. SEGA isn't going to make another game console. They are barely surviving making games right now.

SEGA doesn't have the money, the third party relations, or the trust of the public required to support a new system. I would love to see one, but it's not going to happen.

Sega making a new console wouldn't change anything. The lack of creativity in games is the developer's fault, not the console makers. If Sega made a new console, the same developers that are on the other systems would be making the games for it, so they'd be of the same quality.

no because devs. will have to split up more resources to make games for another console which could lower the quality of games for the current consoles

No, a lot of their software has been subpar or just outright bad lately, no way do I want to see them try and make another console, at least ATM.

Sure, I was ALWAYS a Sega guy before they pulled out. It makes me sick to see MS fill the gap and intentionalyl rip-off and inconvenience their customers. Sega was highly respected and it would be great if this gen was Sega/Nintendo/Sony. There wouldnt be the ignorant fonboyism and such. But, I doubt it will ever happen.

I agree that Apple should stay out of this industry. They are already getting a terrible reputation for high prices, faulty hardware, crappy cutomer support and dont get me started on iTunes. As rediculous as it seems, if Apple did enter the gaming market, Im sure a bunch of loyalists would jump on board regaurdless of thier faults. But I wouldnt buy it.

No, they are better off as a publisher for people like Platinum, Gearbox, and Monolith.

Dreamcast was the best last effort Sega could have ever done. Better to go out with a bang than fade away. I don't think sega would do too well now. Like everyone else said, they are struggling as it is. What ever happened is beyond me, but the Dreamcast was sure their last bit of talent that they had left.
