Bioshock looks great on a HDTV, the 14 min gamplay looks astounding alot better then the pics i see but Gears looks a litlle better their both running on the UE3 so thats why Bioshock looks great.

Gears of War *looks* better, but BioShock has a LOT more going on in its scenes than Gears of War. Thus, Gears can focus entirely on static graphical beauty, while BioShock's beauty comes from its dynamics rather than its statics.

I agree, but that ain't the best comparison. It looks there as if GeOW is better than Bioshock, which isn't right.

no, i've seen the screens from Bioshock and although it looks good, the textures are not up to par with Gears (yet). But i really want to play this game

Its going to be hard to compare until you can play them both.  But I have a feeling Bioshock is going to look better when it is released.  I think I read somewhere that they have a guy or 2 who have spent their entire time developing the water effects.

Gears looks better (especially with the huge environments) but Bioshock has a better artistic style.

I think that Bioshock screenshot it from May 6th 2006...

A more accurate idea of the textures, see the ceiling and the dress on the rack...

Gears looks somewhat better. Eventhough Bioshock is coming many months after it.

I think Bioshock looks worlds-that's right-worlds better than Gears.  The water looks amazing, and alot of the enviros are interactive (rather than a few low poly picture frames and furniture in GeOW).  BS's lighting and fully dynamic AI also impress...

No. I think Mass Effect is closer to Gears' level of graphics than Bioshock is.

Neither of them look as nice as Gears though.

Well then clearly Gears. It is pretty unsurprising though that Epic would know how best to use their own engine.

Bioshock looks more pleasing to the eye, finer use of colours and a better sense of location and art.

;o Gears is once of the most artistic games I've played [Suprisingly...]. Especially when you put the visual settings on Vibrant. Mmmmmm, that's good graphics whore.
