Does false hype / rumors / etc make Fanboys happy?

Man... I remember the last six months of 2007 was pretty decent on System Wars. With the flood of games coming that holiday, it made sense that System Wars would be lite up with topics. Most of them, while not the best, where pretty interesting to follow -- mostly because every 10 posts you would find a good reply/opinion.

Well, since then this board has become flooded with rumors and false facts. Most of them are clearly and blatently garbage, yet they are the ones with the most activity. I don't know if it whether there is a fanboy bandwagen that hops onto the thread, to simply say something along the lines of: "O M G -- Super Mario Galaxy is coming to 360 lawlz, Wii pwnt". While every good comment in the thread, criticizing the validity of the post gets completely ignored.

Conclusion... if some of these posters just worked at McDonalds for the number of hours they spent making unfounded, trolling, and inflammatory threads... they could have bought every system and a gaming pc. Seriously... where did all the serious debate go?

i stick to sites like kotaku or gamepolitics for real debate and i suggest others with something intelligent to offer to do the same

Perhaps. Fanboys on System Wars are probably the lowest form of human being you can find. These are people that get their jollies off of making fun of video game consoles. The best thing to really do is ignore them, instead of reply back to them, if you know that their posts are total BS.princeofshapeir
