Does Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth look good or what?

I thought this was an incredible trailer. This is the type of trailer we want to see at these showcases. Actual gameplay, beautiful graphics, fun battle system and story. What’s not to like about it? Am I rite, SW? Even Maximillian went nuts over it.

No thanks, just not interested. And omg that voice acting is terrible.

But I didn’t play the first, so not gonna play this one till I do. I’ll wait for a major price cut like Square always does on their games

Are we talking about visuals? Cuz it looks like a PS4 game to me, one that was released in 2018.

Looks great but I'll be waiting quite a while because I wanna get all 3 of these remake parts on Steam. Oh well.

Everything leading up to that last reveal was pretty boring though, to be honest. Nothing else looked good.

r0k became an FF7 fan after playing the remake!

Meh. I tried Remake and got bored after about 2 hours. It's also jarring to see them run through the foliage and it not reacting at all.

It's cool they remade this, the ps1 graphics were blocky and cartoony but it was still a good game. I haven't got around to playing this. I hear it's a huge game that is coming out in segments.

I wonder have they really opened up the map though or is it more just some large areas loosely connected together? It looks like the game is going at least from leaving midgar up to the events at the crater.

Going by the original....that's a lot of ground to cover both map wise and content wise. Remake only covered a pretty small part of the original game in comparison.

I wouldn't write it off just because it's not fully open world. In the original game the world map is pretty big but also pretty empty. Replicating that would be a bit pointless in the new game. Fully fleshing it out to modern production values would probably be cost prohibitive.

A collection of big areas (think xenoblade big if you have played those) loosely connected, where each area is also interesting to explore and has a good amount of stuff to do would be a good trade off imho.

It will be interesting to see how they will handle all that anyway. It's a much bigger chunk of the base game to cover compared to what remake covered.

Yep. Game looks excellent. Absolutely loved FFVII Remake and am very much looking forward to Rebirth.

I liked what I saw but, the whole Whispers story line, fate and time on the first remake I didn't like. Hopefully, they're able to execute it and stay more on course of the original storyline.

Yup, first Final Fantasy game I ever played. the series got really really big after it moved to playstation, but I always rolled with the Nintendo crowd :p

Whevenever someone asks: which Final fantasy should I pick to get into the series, I always reply: FF7 remake.

It's my most hyped 2024 game. I loved the combat of the first part; it's definitively my favorite of any modern rpg.

Yes, combat is great, and the game also captures the spirit of the original.

Yeah, the dialogue and localization was on point. It was way better than the Crisis Core days for sure.

Looking forward to it when it hit PC.

I dont see much difference with the 1st one. But nonetheless it looks good.

The first part of the Remake was okay, but they totally shat the bed in the final sections of it (with the totally undeserved apocalyptic battle), and all of the new story elements were obnoxious and frustrating.

I never loved the original FF7, but FF7R was at its best when it just stuck to the original cast and story, rather than attempting a clumsy meta-story about fate and parallel timelines.

If FF7R2 continues off its rails and starts focusing more on deep-cut lore characters from spin-off games, then I'm not particularly interested in it.

Looks amazing ... the first one is easily one of the best JRPGs i've played and the sequel is looking great, can't wait for it, probably my most hyped game as of now.

Only these people can make wide open spaces so linear. Yuck.

You noticed it too, huh? I saw a lot more cut off islands than the original game had in the trailer. Most of it didn't make sense but I think it's just so that we wouldn't feel ripped off that we can't go to certain areas. I'd honestly rather have that than completely cut off segments of land just to compensate for the lack interactivity.

My most anticipated game, the combat from the first game is so good and it's already gonna be satisfying having dual techs and all party members at our disposal.

It's Final Fantasy 7. Not even Squeenix can mess it up. And you can tell they're putting a lot of love into it.

It'll be a day-1 buy once again.
