I like that Gears has a huge overarching story as opposed to Uncharted where it's a full story every game, but the Uncharted stories are told so much better than the Gears story.

There has been TWO games, and the third one appears to be mixing it up a bit.
the gears story is as generic as they come, aliens attack planet, big muscle men have to defend it, every other word is a swear word, seen it before. That being said Uncharted is pretty much generic but the voice actors do such a great job in bringing the characters to life and making them seem real i gotta say uncharted storyline by far.
One of the worst things about uncharted is the extremely cheesy dialogue and the story made me laugh. (in a bad way)
Gears actually has an overarching narrative, so in terms of story, Gears. Uncharted has better writing, however, though that's not saying much.
Are people really saying Gears has a better storyline?...:?
Uncharted's storylines play out like big budget summer movies but the dialogue (words coming out of their mouth) is amazing there is barely ever any filler said by the characters, everything they say furthers the plot of the game. Gears however has some of the most innane dialogue but the gameplay and graphics are excellent.

Comparing Uncharted to, say, Transformers 3 isn't helping your case. At all.

X-men: First Class, even this year, was awesome. Most major super hero flicks (batman, ironman, etc) are all summer blockbusters too.To be quite honest, they both have extremely generic stories. Both of them basically just do the same thing that has been done time and time again. If you want to know who has a more immersive story, that easily goes to Uncharted. If you're talking about a story that continues and just meshes well with it's sequels, it is definitely Gears.
With Uncharted, each game has it's own story which doesn't really feel like it needs a sequel. All of the questions are answered in each individual game. If Uncharted ended after the first game, I wouldn't have been entirely sad, because they answered all the questions you had. Sure you had to think a little, and use your imagination, but that's something that happens with every story.
With Gears, you don't have to think as much. Every detail is clearly laid out, and if you are the type of person who likes to know every detail about how everything played out, Gears is the game to pic.
It has generally been that Uncharted is my preference. It has much better art styel, except for that one chapter, everyone knows the one chapter in Uncharted 1 that was more like a Survival Horror game than an adventure game. The lines said by the character are also very witty, and I LOVE witty people.

Which describes how I feel most of the time I read through these SW threads..
Lol...aliens don't attack the planet in Gears. They're like mole people who are INSIDE the planet. This forum is so ridiculous...people making up **** or talking bad about things without even playing the game their bashing. It's really gotten sad around here.the gears story is as generic as they come, aliens attack planet, big muscle men have to defend it, every other word is a swear word, seen it before. They are both generic, but Uncharted presents it so well that it wins. I am buying GeOW 3 for the finale though.

Harry Potter?I dont even know what the story of uncharted is so I vote for gears of war. Gears of war looks like it tells a better story.

Harry Potter?Pretty sure Harry Potter is greek for Transformers 3.
Sucks for you, you should have seen the English version.
Doesn't Gears have an overarching story? mrmusicman247
Gears 1:
We have to blow stuff up to win ageist the bad guys.
We have to go here to blow stuff up.
Ok, we're here so lets blow stuff up.
Oh no, we didn't blow stuff up enough but we can blow stuff up properly with this over here.
We have to get there on this to blow stuff up.
Ok, we're here now . We really blow stuff up.
Yay, we blew alot of stuff up. We win.
Gears 2: Clearly we did blow stuff up enough.....
It might help to actually play the game before commenting on how generic its story is.;)the gears story is as generic as they come, aliens attack planet, big muscle men have to defend it, every other word is a swear word, seen it before. Human invade the planet, not the locust. The locust were there first, the the humans came and tried to take the resources, the Locust got tried of it and went on the attack.the gears story is as generic as they come, aliens attack planet, big muscle men have to defend it, every other word is a swear word, seen it before. Comparing Gears to Uncharted is like compering Micheal Bay to Steven Spielberg.

I'm sorry....They are not alike? A rugged treasure hunter with multiple lover interest going ageist a way more ruthless fellow treasure hunter with more people on his staff which the same rugged hero has to try and find the treasure before. Who does so with gun play, going through trap and a monster amount of narrow escapes. He does this all the while he interacting with a very charming cast of characters and over the top actions...... ........ With that synopsis, I could be talking about any of the uncharted games or Indiana Jones movies. If you can tell me how the two are different out side of setting, personal items and minor character difference, I'll gladly state the two are no where near identical...I'm sorry ...It it the part that Uncharted is Indiana Jones in game form or it it the fact that I'm comparing him to Micheal Bay? :P[QUOTE="dreman999"][QUOTE="DarkLink77"]
