Ive been playing Halo ODST for a while now, and wow... In no way does it deserve a 9 outta 10.... The whole game is just mediocre and feels extremely rushed and tacked on to the Halo series.

(Raises flame sheild) aaannnnddddd ..... Discuss!!

How doesn't 'deserve' it? The reviewer enjoyed the game and rated it accordingly, I don't see what else the game has to do.

I'm thinking 8.5-9.0, is the sweet spot and since it's on spot it does, but the ending was crap. :?

I love how people can't wrap their mind around the fact that it's an opinion. You don't have to give ODST a 9/10. But you can't remove someone else's opinion because it disagrees with yours.

Either the reviewer sincerely liked it, or he didn't want to risk losing his job if he rated the game poorly and initiates an uproar from fanboys.

If you dont think it deserves its score, vote for yourself. That's what that little meter next to the GS score is for. Since your asking, Im assuming you didnt play it? Also, generally, people seem to enjoy it.

More like a 7. It should've been a $20-$25 add-on for Halo 3, not a separate $60 game imo.

And btw, I did like the game, but I don't think it's a AAA title, and it certainly wasn't worth $60.

I bought this game...seemed like the only one who didnt like it at my college. It was so boring to me that I let my little brother beat it. Halo 3 was good though.

Yes it does. Campaign is great fun. Story is told very well and is a noce addition the the Halo lore. Firefight is a great multiplayer addition to the franchise that should become a staple.

ODST is still a top tier title regardless of antihype on System Wars.

I think it has one of the best campaigns in the Halo series so far. And firefight is an awesome new mode. It's not without it's problems though. For one, ODSTs behave too much like master chief. The differences are barely noticeable, other than not being able to dual wield. And second, no matchmaking makes playing firefight a real pain in the butt, as i have to get friends together to play it every time i want a game. I'd give the campaign a 9/10 easily - and i seriously dont buy all this nonsense about 'oh it's too short' because it's longer than most full games these days, including COD4 amongst others. The lack of matchmaking is lame though, making the multiplayer seem more like a bonus than a fully fleshed out part of the game. If i reviewed it, i'd probably give it an 8.5, so you cant say the 9/10 was by any means 'wrong' or too generous. Maybe they just valued the campaign enough to score it that high.

I think its worth 25$. Im sorry but its halo 3 minus the dual wielding and swords and open areas. Firefight is no excuse to why this game should be 60$. Its just a multiplayer bot match with different difficulties.

Hmmm, i would have to disagree with that. The Lost and the Damned has exactly the same environment as GTAIV. It's still in Liberty City, so while you get a new character and a new story, the game itself remains the same. If Lost and the Damned were ODST, you'd be playing as the Rookie alongside the ODSTs through the same levels you played in Halo 3.

Yay for opinions. Yes, i and many others including GAMESPOT think it deserved that 9.0. Not the best Halo game, but one of the best. Guess you people with different opinions will just have to accept that

It would if it only had a matchmaking for Firefight... It's hard to have 3 friends playing the game at once, and I'm not going to look in forums who is playing firefight at a given time, that 's just too much...

First of all, your poll is flawed, you basically give us the option to say it deserves a ten or it doesn't deserve a 9. I think it deserves a nine, quality gameplay, endless replay value (I've already played firefight twice as long as I have horde mode, and beaten the campaign three times). Plus every Halo 3 multiplayer map is included? Talk about a complete package.

I think so. The new health system is excellent imo and it makes the game much more tactical. Not only that, firefight is a blast and very challenging. I only wish they released some kind of competitive multiplayer, because I think with the new health system it would be really interesting to see how team slayer works.

There is a list of people who are playing, GS Firefight is the gamertag. Add it or look at the friends of that account and you will see all the people who are playing or want to play, simple as that.

The Lost and Damned did have new indoor environments, but that is not my point. The Lost and Damned has lasted me much longer than Halo 3 ODST. The story is longer, there are more multiplayer modes, and new side missions for me to play through. I'm comparing the value, not the content.

And that's where it all becomes subjective i suppose. I bought the Lost and the Damned, played it, enjoyed it and didn't really return to it since. I cant stand GTAIV's multiplayer. So for me, the content was great, but it didn't last long, and hence i thought the low price was spot on. With ODST, i dont think it's worth $60 as it lacks a proper fleshed-out multiplayer, and the campaign - while awesome - isn't long enough to stand alone as worthy of $60 like say, Bioshock did. But having said that, it's worth a heck of a lot more than $20. I think it's probably a $45 game.

You gotta take into account though that this was supposed to be an expansion pack, but MS, being the greedy bastards they are, priced it as a full game. So without the price tag next to it, I'd say it's fully deserving.

srs, Halo ODST had like, just as much content that lots of 60 bucks games have. Why should ODST be the only one that's penalized for that?
