Does it Bother Anyone That the 3DS is Outselling All ?

Don't take my word for it check VGchartz, check anywhere you like, Google it, whatever but I just can't help but laugh, in this day and age of high end gaming PC's and consoles like PS4 and X1, The Nintendo 3DS is outselling all other hardware.

So for those who love to bash Nintendo or the Wii-U, just keep in mind they still have a console, all be it a hand held that is number one in the gaming hardware sales.

Because it's cheaper?

No? It's been out longer, is cheaper, and has a better, more entrenched library.

I don't get it

I'm fine with it selling well. I might be buying one............just for joke soon.

It bugs me that it's selling and Nintendo is giving the appearance they plan on supporting it but I think with the NX coming Nintendo is done focusing on making games for it, which really stinks given they just got people to buy the New 3DS. Over the years I've come to the conclusion when Nintendo supports a new product they do it at the expense of others, and if they're trying to stack the deck for the NX release it'll be at the expense of the Wii U and 3DS. Zelda U is going to be delayed to the NX launch, count on it. It bugs me we haven't gotten another new LoZ game on the 3DS, just two remakes, and only got A Link Between Worlds as a new LoZ title. I think they should commit to releasing at least one more proper LoZ game on the 3DS. And shit, I thought I heard a while back they had two Metroid games in development, one for Wii U and one for 3DS, what about those?

The only things I have planned to get for it in the future is Bravely Second, Fire Emblem If, Devil Survivor 2, Etrian Odyssey Untold, Etrian Mystery Dungeon... but that's it. Why not another Luigi's Mansion? Where's Metroid? Where's a new LoZ? How about another Mario game, 3D Land felt more like it was testing waters for 3D World. There's more they can do to support the 3DS on Nintendo's end.

Who knows, I really do hope the New 3DS gets more support besides Xenoblade Chronicles.

Because it's actually a good handheld with a good library of games.

Everyone knows Nintendo Handhelds always sell very well for a number of factors.

I dont care for Handhelds anymore (for about 8 years now) and I dont really pay attention to what happens in that realm.

Handhelds are unimportant rofl.

What's not to get? You either like portables or you don't, and you either like Nintendo or you don't......but regardless their 3DS is at the top of the sales charts.

It sickens me even though it's my favorite Nintendo platform.

All Nintendo handhelds have sold well since the inception of the gameboy. Nothing has changed. In other news the sky is still blue.

The Library is awesome, The System is cheaper than anything in the Market, RPGs, Nintendo 1st Party....

That doesn't matter to me. I enjoy my 3ds a lot, but I find it lacking compared to the ds and psp before it.

No, brilliant system, I now own a new 3ds and it's already been worth it for me, I've put in over 80 hours into MH4 now alone. There's so many great games on it I still want to play and work colleagues have a lot of the good ones I can borrow so I can play them for free. The system deserves to be head and shoulders above everything else.

And why would anyone be mad? I own NTDOY shares, MS shares, SNE among other stocks and I don't care if they are leading in sales. Why would anyone here have a chapped ass about this?

Me too. I have: TLoZ: ALBW 3DS XL, Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrith 3DS XL, New Red 3DS XL and the original Red 3DS XL.

I've bought 3 of the dang things, an original teal, XL blue, and a red new 3DS. Its got a great library and the estore makes playing all my games off the sd card viable for when travelling. I don't have to lug around carts anymore. I've got a ton of "free" Vita games off PSN but I can't bring myself to buy one cause of the stupid memory cards. Its just an insult that Sony wants $100 for one when I've got a $32 class 10 64gb micro sd card in my 3DS.

How much is Snickers outselling 3DS tho?

It doesnt surprise me, Sony messed up on Vita and has dropped support.

Why would good 3DS sales bother any gamer?

The only thing that really bothers me is how low some great games sell, like Bayo 2.

@X_CAPCOM_X: Its the 14th best selling Wii U game and just released late last year. It will get better. Its already close to what the original sold on PS3.

Its sells so well because its a beast of a handheld. Not because of its hardware, but its software. Then on top of that, its BC with the second highest selling system of all time. Don't even have to mention how batshit crazy Pokemon sells.

Nintendo handhelds have sold well since the original gameboy. Not surprised. I have loved every iteration of it. But we all know their home console business is the problem.

Does it bother me that the best system is selling the most? Not at all. It bothers me a hell of a lot more that a system with next to no games sells a lot.

It bothers me in that sense. That it's an incredibly subpar electronic device with unreasonable price tag, that sells like hot cakes.

Meh, I got 4 games for mine. Whenever I think about getting another one I rather buy one for another system. Handheld games shouldn't be more than $20.

It's already got a brand new LoZ plus two remasters. Nintendo hardly ever does more than one brand new Zelda a system. We got a "Link Between Worlds". They still have plenty of games coming. They just released a whole new version of the 3DS. I don't think they are dropping support anytime soon.

Its the best current gen system in terms of library

Being the oldest to launch it is expected to have the highest sales, so I'm neither surprised or bothered.

I think the 3D screen was a huge flop though, and the system design was pretty weak, both graphically and design (one analog sticklol). Although I find all the systems to have flopped design wise, so it isn't a unique trait for the 3DS.

Growing up with Nintendo handhelds since the Game & Watch, absolutely NOT. There's an obvious reason why it sells like crack.

I'm rather annoyed that X1 and PS4 are selling without any real draw. They shouldn't be making hardware at this point.

Judging by the comments, people have forgotten that when the 3DS release on March 27, 2011, it cost $250 just for a 3D add on with no killer app games at all had the worst launch and the price was way too much for a handheld. But at E3 2011, when Sony announce PS Vita for $250, Nintendo had to cut the price which made it the best handheld by cutting the price and it was the leading handheld of choice. I wasn't gonna pay $250, I'm glad I waited for a price drop and Nintendo even admitted that $250 was an overkill only because they saw the DS sells were awesome.

But anyways, no it doesn't bother me, 3DS has come a long way, it was release 2011 vs next-gen consoles 2013 release and I'm enjoying my 3DS XL and I'll pick up N3DS in May around my Birthday.
