I have not not heard anything from them in some time after the stamper brothers left ??
They should make a new killer instinct update like how goldeneye got updated I would but the 360 just for that.

Rare has abandoned the Games they made their Fans love so much for Casual Mii Ripoffs.
Jaysonguy
That's why the redid Perfect Dark from the ground up just to give fan service?
Really?
You actually just posted that they abandoned things?
RARE didn't develop the remake. Learn before you dis other users.7.5 for casual games is ANYTHING but shovelware.. Just cause people on here don't like kinect doesn't mean its bad. It's just for different people. I love how everyone on here TRULY believes that if they don't like something, it shouldnt exist. The reviews are out for kinect, and everyone is trying it, and also saying it is awesome. EVEN all the haters. I wish the same could be said about Move, because i thought that was going to do waaaay better. But everyone claims its just an evolved wii controller. As it stands, kinect will be HUGE this xmas, and with that boost, microsoft will have that much more revenue to throw around.. hopefully for some GOOD exclusives, and first party devs. MS hasnt aquired any devs in a while. Ive wondered why, but I think they are waiting to see how the rest of this gen fairs.Rare have been reduced to creating avatars and shovelware now. It's sad but true.

Banjo kazooie : Nuts and bolts was a great game I thought. A far cry though, from their n64 efforts.

I hardly call a Reskin, "a ground up" effort.

Just Rereleasing old stuff.
Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts was an abomination to the Banjo Kazooie series, Perfect Dark Zero didn't live up to it's predicessor, There's no Killer Instinct 3 or another Battletoads, or heck....Conker for that matter.
i had so much fun with that game, if only they could combine the building with the destruction of a game like red faction guerrilla and a little more action but still in an open world, you'd have a ridiculously fun game.Banjo kazooie : Nuts and bolts was a great game I thought. Battletoads? One of the worst games of all time with one part of the game completely broken?
You want more broken games? No they're done with Nintendo, they don't have to suffer through N's cost cutting moves to recoup losses anymore.

you call making games that almost any talentless dev could make "integral" and "valuable"? sure, they're making a profit for MS, but their game quality is nowhere near what it used to be. I would call that a step down[QUOTE="madmidnight"][QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]RARE didn't develop the remake. Learn before you dis other users. Oh Jayson. You only occasionally post here but every time you do you somehow manage to say something incredibly stupid I also doubt Rare is more valuable than ever and Nintendo didn't just "dump" them. Rare was undoubtedly more valuable (if you take into account inflation over the past 10 years) in the Goldeneye, Conker's, DKC, Banjo-Kazooie and Perfect Dark days than they are now. Nintendo sold them to Microsoft for a pretty decent sum of cash. It was a good move, Rare had become progressively worse, some people may like Kameo and Nuts & Bolts but they are undoubtedly a step down from previous efforts, and now they're making Kinect party games. i loved viva pinata, n&b, and kameo, and they made some party games but I believe rare has more then one studio doesn't it? They might be making some kinect titles but to think they completely abandoned making core games is pretty dumbThat's why the redid Perfect Dark from the ground up just to give fan service?

still, the game is great regardless of how much better a true bk platformer would have been.

I couldn't care less as a gamer about the needs of casual gamers, they only contribute to nothing but shallow simplistic games that require zero effort to make. You've wondered why MS hasn't bothered with exclusives lately? Thats quite simple.. They don't need to. Casuals will provide the majority income whilst hardcore can be pleased by Halo and Gears alone. That ain't gonna change any time soon. Sorry to say but MS is ignoring you.Rare have been reduced to creating avatars and shovelware now. It's sad but true.

Nintendo doesn't do cutting edge, they aim for casuals and children so they let Rare take care of the cutting edge and were rewarded for it then Nintendo through that they could do cutting edge and let Rare go and they failed to make up the losses. Rare isn't cutting edge anymore but they're still one of the best in the business and Microsoft trusted them to be the framework of everything the 360 is now.
The idea that they're somehow making bad products isn't true, a company in the console race does not turn to a weak company and then base everything on what they design

well it wasn't a racing game, they had racing in it yes, but it was more about, here is something you need to accomplish, build something to accomplish that objective, any way you feel like it, I spent like a day just for 1 objective just making the most ridiculous things i possibly could, and it was just to launch your character as far as you could. I like platformers but banjo was something special if you really got into the building. I was surprised with some of the contraptions you could make, how much stuff you could put in it. It's my personal favorite for this gen so far.[QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]

Their games practically defined the 5th gen. their current games are by no means bad, but they're miles from where they used to be, and not even close to the best in the business. If you wanna talk scores then that just proves current RARE is a shadow of it's former self.
Donkey Kong 64 (N64) 9.0
Banjo-Kazooie (N64) 9.5
Banjo-Tooie (N64) 9.6
Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64) 9.3
GoldenEye 007 (N64) 9.8
Perfect Dark (N64) 9.9
Indeed, RARE in it's prime people.
do you want to know something? Nintendo replaced RARE with retro studio's, and haven't looked back :)
