Does MS really need to announce any big games coming in 2010 at E3?

I mean, to me, they already have arguably the better lineup this year of games, plus they got Natal coming out, which could either be the next best thing or a collasel bomb. Plus, they got Halo Reach coming in Q4, so theyre pretty much going to own that month it comes out unless SONY has something big coming that month that could counteract it. So, I dont think MS will announce any big games around that month Reach comes out because theyll canibilize their own market. I jsut dont really see the need to announce any gigantic big name games for this year, because I dont think they need it.

SONY, on the other hand, has nothing for Q4 of this year, and the only big name things they have slated for this year are GOW 3 (which is already out) and GT 5, and who the hell knows when that thing will actually hit. Plus, Last guardian isnt confirmed for this year, and that game is very Niche. So I do think SONY NEEDS to announce some big games for this year, but I really cant see what they could be since they already released all their big name sequels, and games like Resistence 3 and KZ 3 are probaly going to be 2011 games. Anyway, im curious what both companys will bring to their E3 conferences, and if Gears 3 actually does come in 2010, holy ****

.. I may have missed a few but that's a pretty big line up of games.

Not to mention whatever Epic is announcing (most likely will be Gears 3), I believe Turn 10 will make mention of Forza 4, and you have XBL titles..

Not to mention all the 3rd party offerings..

Castlevania Lord of Shadows, Crysis 2, Monter Hunter ect..

..so to answer your question NO I dont think they need to announce any big games at this years E3.. But I'm sure they will.. ;)

I dont think GT 5 would be hitting the same month as Halo, and I do think GT has enough clout to accel even if it did come out the same time as Reach, and if Reach is the first TRUE next gen Halo, then WTF was Halo 3? BTW: I really hope Reach is actually HD resolution, unlike Halo 3 and ODST.

I said announcing games for THIS year, not the next. They should totally announce stuff for next year, in fact id be majorily dissapointed if they didnt. im just saying, they have a killer lineup this year, so I question wether or not they really are in need to add to it. I will be happy as a pig in **** if they announced more great games for this year, but im just saying I dont think they really need to. BTW: even if its not Exclusive, its still a game you cant get on PS3, so its a plus for the 360 regardless, Yakuza 3 is very niche, and Im not sure how big MLB is since I dont think baseball games have ever sold gangbusters, and I honestly Question how well recieved Modnations racers will be. TheExlcusives SONY has lined up, only two of them (GT 5 and GOW 3) are like guranteed to do very well, while 360 has like multiple games that are expected to sell and do very well.

Mass Effect 2 is on 360, its not on PS3. even if its also on PC, how is having it only on 360 for the consoles not a point for 360?

I don't quite understand what you're saying here. In my opinion, if system A & system B both have a game that system C doesn't, owners of system C can't dismiss the game. For example, just because ME2 is on both 360 & PC doesn't mean cows can say ME2 on the 360 doesn't count when being compared to the PS3 lineup.

I would say that the PS3/Xbox360/PC can probably coast through this year without new announcements. The only console that can't would be the Wii. They really need to get their act together and bring out their big guns. Hopefully the rumors are true and Nintendo has really listened to their fans. Bringing out games like SMG2, Metroid, Pikmin and (please make a new one) Fire Emblem will be the only way I see that Nintendo will have a successful E3. No more Wii Fit sequals and more add-ons.

If a game comes out on one system then the fact its not playable on the other systems is a point for that system...but then again If we follow that logic any one that doesn't have a pc capable of playing a 360/PC game can't take advantage of it either...and if they own a system that thegame that came out on 360 and PC cant be played on then its a point against that system they own.

I personally would love to see Microsoft come on stage and say look we've given up on Natal we realized no one really wanted to use it, and we aren't gonna follow the route Sony is going so we are giving up on motion sensing, In its place and all the Promotion dollars and R&D dollars saved we are making a better system, better online, and these used to be sony exclusives are now coming to 360. I don't feel (personally) that the 360 lineup is that impressive. Alan Wake is the only game I would consider buying, so yes, I'd like to see more. So far, I think the PS3 has a better lineup (IMO, please do not think I'm stating it as fact).

with Alan Wake and Conviction i think they are good for NOW. But i think when it comes Q4 i think they may need to announce something big. Reach is the only really good AAA game coming to the 360. With PS3 having Agent i think they may be tied when it comes to Q4. Now that i think about it both need to do something big at E3.
