While on series x you can play them enhanced? I am a Sony fan but it worries me especially with how mediocre and cheesy 16 looks
No switch needs FF4-6 on Switch somehow there is zero final fantasy's on the snes app or for sale in a collection those ones aren't on there for some reason
maybe sony or square-enix knows why they are not there and FFT isn't there either and its on ios and android SONY where are those games.
No. The gaming community gives zero fucks about the FFXIII trilogy. By far one of the least favoured Final Fantasy games to date.
It would be nice, it has one of the best battle systems in the series and a great soundtrack. I just replayed it on PS3 though so I'm good for now.
Are you serious? If you mean FF13 Lightning Returns then fair enough.
I will back Sony for the challenge of bringing PS3 games to newer platforms. This one is on Square Enix. Still, lack of cross-platform compatibility of digital games like PS1/PS2 classics from PS3 digital catalog, digital PSP games, Vita games, they could do a lot to support a wealth of digital titles across multiple platforms. This might be just as much a legal/publishing challenge as it is technical. I am sure they could make a working feature but things like this probably require new drafting of platform publishing framework for their digital stores and future proofing rights and content availability with future consoles in mind, then they probably have to seek out publisher support to sign onto migrating content piece by piece over to the new publishing framework... I kind of think this is where MS got ahead of Sony on its 9th gen BC.
I will say, it took a while for Sony to make the PS3'a BC digital catalog something respectable but they managed to make it a treasure trove of classic PS titles and they just dismissed it. Was sad. Hopefully this change in direction of them keeping their digital stores open will leave hope they can things moving into a better direction.
And yeah, like others said, not many cared about FFXIII trilogy anyways (I did though), it lost its praise when it went multiplatform (look at MLB21), but if you care to play it at its best, you might need to get an XB1X or Series X to play it in 4K. It's amazing what a few post-processing effects do to low quality assets to make it look almost as polished as a modern title.
@girlusocrazy: they actually updated the movie files for the X enhanced version of FFXIII. And have you seen the Xbox 360 game running with the X enhancements yet? It's amazing how well visually it still holds up with a little sprucing up
I noticed this a few weeks ago. That FF13 was never ported or remastered. Other notable exclusions include Splinter Cell: Blacklist.
Also Red Dead Redemption, which considering the game was never ported to PC, is basically an Xbox exclusive now (unless you want to use Sony's trash streaming service built on infrastructure from the onlive-era and ancient PS3 blade servers based on 2006 tech, yikes)
What is even more flooring is the fact that you cannot play ANY of the older God of War games outside of 3 (which was remastered) on a modern Playstation console. Or any of the Ratchet and Clank games. How that is not utterly unacceptable to Cows is beyond me, but hey, they dont care about old games They absolutely fucking love remasters though. holy chiet do they love remasters.
i enjoyed and played ff16 to ff15. ff13 trilogy is the one thing i haved passed. i played few hours and couldnt get myself to play it again.
Sony has Returnal. What does MS have for this month, next month, next month, next, next, next? The only game we keep on hearing is Halo Infinite, a game that was supposed to come out last year. So why not just delay the game to 2022 so the X has 1 game for 2022? They've already done it once, so lets do it a second time. Hell, why not just delay it to 2023? If they do this, in 2021 people can say that Infinite is the answer. In 2022 they'll do the same and in 2023 the same thing yet again. Yolo lets delay it to 2024 so there's "guaranteed" game for that year 😆
