Wii owners are gonna gt Fatal Frame 4 This summer.
Lems and cows RE5.
Hermits? Nothing. b/c you cannot get a good scary/horro atmosphere on PC sitting on your wooden chair, small screen and stereo sound. Fact.

RE5 aint survival horror, just a 3rd person shooter. Other than that you listed one unreleased game, ill do the same.
Left 4 Dead.
Actualy PC set-up, with sitting close to a screen and with headphones is a lot more suited for scary atmosphere than TV and big couch.Hermits? Nothing. b/c you cannot get a good scary/horro atmosphere on PC sitting on your wooden chair, small screen and stereo sound. Fact.

And we do get survival horrors, they're just rarely action-adventure ones. Penumbra: Black Pleague for example is survival horror adventure game and scored 8.0 at GS, which is propably higher than either SH5 or new FatalFrame will

So you admit your an ignorant casual who knows little to nothing about survival horror, only mainstream games like Res Evil?
Not that you had any credibility, but you just lost it completly. thanks for making it so easy.
Ummm...STALKER? Which is 10x scarier than what RE4 given that RE4 completely lacked the atmosphere of the past games.
mo0ksi
i didn't think STALKER was that scary, but it was pretty atmospheric and original for a FPS game

Absolutely.
truth hurts. To truly works horror needs to be immersive, which is almost impossible on consoles. Consoles are all about cinematic experience.
No wonder PC wins in horror, afterall...which is scaries... watching scary things (like consoles offer) or actualy feeling like you're inside the horror, which is what PC offers
Or do you think that it's a coincidence that PC has many times more horror games in it's entire lifespan than all consoles combined and not only are they spread through more genres, but heck...survival horror as a genre started on PC

Well, it's not truly scary, just the severs part are, but that's still a lot more than can be said about RE4's scariness

Yep... except both Wii Fatal Frame and SH5 combined won't sell as much as STALKER, but hey...if you say it's niche :D

You've got to be kidding me. Horror games on amoniter are a piece of crap. Seriously, if you're a pic gamer and like horror games and want to actually be scared invest in consoles... or at least hook it up to your tv.
Playing in the middle of the night with the lights off on my huge ass with surround sound has no better experience for horror games.
In fact, I don't think anyone would argue that. Hell, pc gamers should agree that it's better to just hook your pc to your tv for gaming and get a controller (for games that support it). The only thing is that you typically will have to a $80ish accessory to do so (unless you have a newer high end tv that has a pc input)
* and pc gamers, Codemned, Clive Barkers games (such as undying), and most others aren't scary. I have yet to play a truly scary pc horror game. Play Silent Hill if you want a scare. (yea, i know some of them are on pc, but it's better on consoles imo)

ever play doom 3. with 5.1 headphones, high res, 3:00 at night..no you havent, its much more immersive on pc, just because you have a bigger tv dosent mean you more immersed in the game, sitting in a chair makes you feel like your straped in and there no turning back once you start the game..
and your second statement is just the same as on pc...
not only that but 3ps(third person shooters) play and control much better on pc, gears, Mass effect, RE4 all controled much better than on a controller..

not really. It's not scary at all, no tension, too far from the screen and most of all very little immersion, which to me and many other people is the most important thing about horror.
There is a good reason why most good PC horror games are actualy scary, while console ones rely mostly on jump scares

First off what?
Second I have a surround sound system on my computer and playing it in the dark with your face inches from the screen is a lot more immersive then sitting on a couch laying down.
And no PC gamers shouldn't agree with you because it's all a matter of preference.

doom is far from scary. I don't think you exactly understand what it means to get freaked out. Pc games such as doom, fear, etc. all rely on the "peek-a-boo" mechanic. Silent Hill will freak you out constantly. It's more so about the atmosphere than hide and seek.
Doom is like a grade B horror movie. Cheap scares really.
And how exactly do TPS control better on pc? I can aim fine with a controller, and it's much easier to move with analog and buttons for actions than the keyboard. And lol at RE4, you realize that you can't use a mouse at al with that, right? You're talking out of your ass.

What paying $80 to hook your PC to the TV. Where did you get that from. Even if your TV is old you can buy a composite or even a scart cable for $2-3 assuming your Vga dont have those cables which is very unlikely ( Vga's usually have a composite an s-video cable an HDMI to DVI converter and some VGA's even have the HDMI cable Bundled)

But seriously- it's like watching a movie on the pc vs. a tv. Seriously dude? Have you ever played a true horror game alone in tthe dark at night on a tv? I doubt it.

ok first off i used doom as an example of its enviroment and dark corridors, the game is alot more scarty than just "peek a boos" the sound os machines and distant creatures creates a very tension heavy enviroment.
its your opinion is you say TPS play better on consoles, that opinion just like i stated mine.. im not getting into an agruement over who moves charaters better than another..im just saying that im my time playing games like gears on pc its controls much better on consoles IMO
there is also a patch/mod for pc version that adds mouse support for the pc version of the game..maybe if you do some research you could not say ppl are talking out of there ass and you could look like alot less of a fool
