does the virtual console version of sonic 2 have online co op?

i know the live arcade version does thats what renders old games totally inferior compared to a psn live arcade or virtual console version and thats online co op with leaderboards

I know, but it's not fun to play online co-op online when your friend isn't beside you.

No it doesn't. And neither the Streets of Rage 2 VC version did.

The XBL version of the game is clearly the best one.

You can do that if you want. "And" you can play it online as well.

More choices = better.
