it scored a 9.5 on the pc..Javieralijandro
Lay your system wars body armor down for a while and answer my question.
Only real gamers with tons of patience would even like demons souls, to the rest the game would be smash your controller or just give up material Im luving demons souls, but damn it like to punish the player so much, But for some reason it keeps me coming back for more punishment.Totalgym9000dragon age is going to require a **** ton of patience as well. It's a minimum of 60 hours of exploring around and fighting enemies, just a different sort of fighting.

It's odd but, honestly, after killing Phalanx (the first demon), I haven't had much trouble with the game in terms of difficulty. You just learn to watch your step and be aware of your environment. Other then that, kill kill kill. :) I did have a bit of trouble with Flamelurker. I didn't die but I literally had one more hit and I was dead...
Was a close call. I agree with you though. Demon's Souls takes alot of patience for most people and a casual player approaching it is essentially unheard of. Dragon Age I don't think requires anywhere near as much patience especially in terms of difficulty.
Depends on what your definition of better is. If a game that's light on story and heavy on action is better then it'd be Demon Souls. If deep storylines and well developed characters are your preference then Dragon Age is better. I'd say for most traditional RPG fans that DA:O is definitely the top pick here.

well... maybe if you play it, you will find out for yourself!
personally, i think dragon age looked literally embarassing, but it appears i was wrong. personally i like demons souls a lot but im not buying the level of hype some people are showing for it. it is certainly one of the best games of the year, but its hardly some insurmountable game to top.
Did not fnd myself as immersed in games like Oblivion or Fallout so I am very scared to buy Dragon Age (same feel as Oblivion). I am thus sticking with Demon's Souls for this year, but I will pick up DA eventually but not this year

holy crap flamelurker didn't kill you? he got me like 3 times before I got him >_>I'm playing a hunter so I literally hopped around popping him in the head just trying to avoid him as much as possible. He was throwing his main attack at me (the flame surge thing...don't know what to call it) when I popped him in the head to kill him. I had one more hit then death. :?
Old Monk on the other hand is an Arch Demon. He was very dissapointing as I just demolished him.
I love Demon's Souls though. If I wasn't trying to beat 4 games on each of the 3 consoles I'd probably never play anything else.

But I like both of those things! Heavy action and deep storylines and well developed characters! ARGH!!! :x
I don't know which will be better, but I really want both. I'm picking up Dragon Age this weekend and I told my parents that Demon's Souls is a top priority for Christmas (having them get it for me since I'd have to order it; its nowhere in the area where I live).

ah, yeah, i killed him before i really started using spells or arrows :oSo is the best version of Dragon Age better than Demon Souls? It means the PC version of Dragon Age is better than Demon Souls

To me the hardest bosses were maneater(think thats his name),flamelurker and the king. Every other boss is challenging, but these felt the hardest. Im a magician by the way.

I feel that chracter class choice has a huge effect in DS. My friend started as a temple knight, then restarted as a royal, and hasnt had much of a problem with any boss since. I am a knight, and def had some problems early on. Magic is quite effective in this game.[QUOTE="Puckhog04"][QUOTE="Jandurin"] holy crap flamelurker didn't kill you? he got me like 3 times before I got him >_>h575309

You can cheese a lot of fights using ranged attacks, I'm a knight and I rarely have any trouble with anything with my trusty sticky long compound bow +5 by my side. Exception being False King.

Also, I wonder if the PC guy who reviewed dragon age gave it a 9.5 to compete with the Demon Souls game. I havent played the game, but its something that I wonder about, seeing that there are 3 DIFFERENT SCORES for this game.I guess. Me personally, wants a game gets AAA, they are all the same (including AAAA). I mean really, what the difference between a 9.0 and a 9.5.

Of course. RPG of this gen. Hermits win.
BioShockOwnz
what the hell, you haven't even played it. how can one score from one reviewers opinion decide for you the best rpg this gen? with that mindset gta4 was everyone's Greatest of All time the day ign gave it a perfect 10(that game is far froma 10 more like a 7.5). LMFAO

Haven't looked too much into DA, but from what I have see I haven't been too interested in it-- though I would like to buy it, I just fear I may not be as into it as a good RPG should. I meant its like Oblivion in the sense of the setting... I'm wrong about that aren't I? Well I'll do my research then XD
As a more action oriented gamer who likes a challenge, Demon's Souls interests me more. I'm interested in playing Dragon Age once I get over the feeling that its a dated at launch pc game with average graphics and some generic fantasy aspects. I know DA is deeper than that and a good game but for me, I want Demon's Souls more as the combat looks more satisfying.

The old monk is aight but its really awesome when you actually fight another player. I love playing spoiler for someone in that scenario I wish I could just choose an option to do that, its so much fun when you kill someone like that.
In general the PvP is pretty fun as long as its one v. one. If the other guy has two friends its just damn impossible.
OT: We'll have to wait for the year end awards to decide it but these are the two front runners for RPGOTY for sure and will probably be nominated for GOTY as well.
Just because Dragon Age scored higher doesn't mean that its the better game. Plenty of games that have scored lower have won the actual award than a higher rated game in the same genre.

Old Monk summon other players to fight you so his defficulty depend on the player against you and your luck Old monk can become the nastiest boss in Demon's souls once he summoned a player that killed me with 2 blue phantoms I still cant believe it it was me + 2 people helping me and yet he defeated all of us it was a nightmare.

Ouch that sucks. The player that was summoned against me hardly put up a fight. I'm not sure with is worse :|
