Don't you dare to accuse me of favouritism if I had stated at the very beginning that X1 is inferior to PS4 hardware-wise. The very fact that your feelings got hurt and you started to go all-defensive when I made a comparison whose purpose was not to precisely say how much inferior PS4 is but to emphasize the fact that PS4 (just like any other console) was already outdated at the moment of release - speaks volumes about something.
Wow, no need to get salty. So it was a glib comment to call the PS4 "outdated". So let's explore this. Here's the definition of outdated;
: no longer useful or acceptable : not modern or current
Well, the PS4 is useful and acceptable. It just released, so it's also modern and current. So how is it outdated?

This is childish ridiculous nonsense I refuse to be part of. I've just had a blast seeing Thurston Moore and my mood won't be spoiled in some grasping at straws contest. FYI when I said "below average" I meant it only very slightly. originally I wanted to say just "average".
Great. Clear as mud. So when you say the PS4 is outdated, then does that mean that the majority of PC's are outdated as well? And if that's the case, then so what? Why would it only be remarkable for the PS4? And what is this "average PC"? Is it this?
The Unity survey that has the most common parts being a 4 thread CPU at 47.1% (Intel leads at 74.5%) with 4GB RAM at 38.7% running Win 7 at 57.7%. GPU gets a little funny, though. Nvidia leads the vendors with 45.4% and series with the 6xx series at 12.3% (which covers GPU's below, at, and far above the PS4 GPU levels). But, the top 10 chips are;
- Intel HD 4000: 7.7%
- Intel GMA HD: 5.0%
- Intel HD 2000: 4.0%
- GeForce GT 650: 3.3%
- GeForce GTX 660: 3.2%
- GeForce GTX 560: 3.0%
- Intel HD 3000: 2.9%
- Intel G45 (GMA X4500): 2.4%
- GeForce 9800/GTS250: 2.3%
- GeForce GTX 550: 2.2%
There's not even a halfway decent GPU metric like with the CPU since DX compatibility (DX11 wins at 61.3%) doesn't really speak to chip capability. So I'm not really sure what the "average PC" really is.
