Do it. best game ever, and the nostalgia will make me overdose and probably die. really though, i love this trend. taking old N64 favorites and updating them graphically and giving them achievements. DK64 was made by rare, so come on, do it. i need to use DK's coconut blaster one, sweet, final time. my N64 died on me. and other shady methods suck control-wise.(not sure if i can talk about it here, but Project 64 has terrible controls and configuring them is a mission.) i'd rather pay $5.99 for a legit copy and be able to play it on my 360.LeGoofyGooberNintendo owns the IP, so its not happening. Also, thats the reason why Goldeneye isnt on XBLA, because nintendo refuses to allow it, even though MS wanted to put it on Wii Virtua console AND give Nintendo revenue from XBLA.

Pretty sure Activison had a say in that too, them having the Bond license now.

Pretty sure Activison had a say in that too, them having the Bond license now.Youre right, here is officially what happend "Those of you who were excited to learn Goldeneye would be making a triumphant return via the Xbox Live Arcade are going to be severely disappointed: while the project was set and ready to go, it was sadly canceled late last year "at the behest of Nintendo." According to a recent post over at the NeoGAF forums, Nintendo America's Reggie Fils-Aime was "completely behind the idea," but the whole thing was nixed by Nintendo Japanese boss Satoru Iwata. He basically said that "under absolutely no circumstances would Nintendo allow the game to release on another platform." Of course, Nintendo doesn't really have the rights to the code, nor does it hold any legal sway to block such a release. However, it's now rumored that the threat such a move could have to Activision's relationship with Nintendo was enough to block the project. So at this point, Goldeneye for XBLA really isn't happening, unless something radical changes in Nintendo's company policy. Unfortunately for Xbox 360 owners, if they want to experience the old-school greatness that was Goldeneye, they had best pick up a Nintendo 64. Otherwise, you might be waiting a very long time for this classic to arrive on Microsoft's next-gen platform." LINK

I'm disappointed...I was excited to read epic win...instead I just got epic begging. Fail.

In case you aren't aware, Nintendo owns all the rights to Donkey Kong and friends. As much as I'm sure Microsoft would like to have that on their system, Nintendo will put a big fat NO on any idea pretaining to anything of theirs appearing on any console but their own. I'd expect to see it on the Wii's VC soon and probably a whole new Donkey Kong platforming game being announced sometime within the next year.
GOLD BAW-NAW-NAW... coconut launcher? the giant dude with the pineapple bazooka? Lanky's grape shooter? the game was genious.best game ever? really..?

I'm one of the few that thought Donkey Kong 64, Banjo were meh. Jet Force Gemini, now I'd welcome that on VC or XBL. The most underappreciated N64 game.
Oh, and the idea of Donkey Kong being on a Microsoft system is utter nonsense. Even if Microsoft had the legal rights to the game, they still wouldn't do it.

I'm not sure what a source mod is but if it has anything to do with development, those rights are owned by Rare, which was acquired by Microsoft some time ago. Who knows what the real issue is; I think everyone's unhappy that Goldeneye probably won't ever see a rerelease. But Goldeneye with Wii controls would be perfect because Goldeneye controls are already bad.

If you believe that, then you are stupid. MS holding the rights but not releasing Nintendo games because... Well... Because you as a lemming say, "CANNOT ALLOW NINTENDO CHARACTERS ON A XBOX!!!"
Please, grow up, Microsoft doesn't care about fanboys... releasing old legendary Nintendo games for cash is what Microsoft would do for good business... Why the hell would they buy rights for stuff like Rare (or Nintendo if by some miracle Nintendo goes under) and not release stuff that they have rights to?
This reminds me of a dream I had last night, where Microsoft had a SSBB type game, yet it also had Nintendo characters, I was so confused in the dream also XD.
Good lord this thread was a waste of time.
Oh, and a lot of us have decided that we don't like Donkey Kong 64 anymore because it's not any fun.

Goldeneye wasn't stopped because of Nintendo, it was actually Activision because of the James Bond license.
