Because they know it. And they knew it before buying PS3. They chose the PS3 because, like me, THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE BEST LONG-TERM CHOICE. I bet they'd all buy a 360 if they only had 4 months to live, but they know it lasts longer than that, so they bought a PS3. Its as simple as that.

Actually, yeah. I don't think ANYONE went out and bought a Wii thinking, "Man! My system is gonna thrash the graphics of the PS3 and 360"

again with this sony crap!!..stop acting like they are the only company making games for their consol. anyways i do agree the launch had some weak games but hey look in the past at most previous consoles like PS1 and PS2. weak launch up lasted one hell of a long time in the long run.

The PS2 launched with Madden, so that kept my friends and I occupied for a long time.

It doesnt change the fact that the ps3 is over a year late, imagine the games selection if it had been released the same time as the 360!

I wouldnt wait that long and pay that little bit extra for average games.Own biased opinion obviously.

Gamers have been spoiled. The trend goes back and forth:

Atari and Megadrive and stuff like that were awesome because they were among the first games. Any game was "good" on those systems. 

Nintendo and Sega released sweet games when the NES, Genesis, SNES, and N64 came out.

Then, the trend shifted. PS1 (and PS2) both had crap first years, but they eventually came out with good games.

Then, the XBOX came out, launching with Halo, and the trend shifted back to "strong launch titles". Obviously, all developers WANT to have strong launch titles, but it doesn't always happen.

Most of the complaining and naysaying is coming from XBOX (and 360) owners who were treated well by Halo (even though the first year of the 360 was crap. all it had was better graphics) and then they point the finger at Wii and PS3 owners and laugh.

When I bought my PS3, I knew the good games were coming in fall and everything before that will be AA. But that doesn't mean it's useless

Yeah, I'm sure that wasn't what you meant. X360 will have a good run for 5 years, then that's a long term investment too. But I say don't buy a system for what will eventually come out, even knowing it's lineup over the next 2 years. Buy it when the games actually ARE there, or has firm release dates. And saying Q3 07 just doesn't cut it, that's too vague and has a good chance of being pushed back. But when the official word comes out that it's Apr 07 or Jan 08, then you know when it'll have what you want.

I didn't buy my X360 at launch, I waited to see how the library was shaping up. By Sep 06 it had the great games already (GRAW, Oblivion, PGR 3), and what was confirmed just around the corner (GeoW, Lost Planet, SC: DA, Dead Rising).

Buy on what's delivered, not on what's promised.

Indeed.  The Wii's graphics do suck, but that's not why I got one.
