This game is not that great, the voices dont even connect with the words, and sometimes when the character is talking the lips dont move at all. This game is ugly, its graphics are nothing special. THE biggest thing that killed this game for me is lack of saves. I was cool with there not being that many saves at firstbut 16hours inand it happened consistently i died and lost about an hour or 2 of gameplay, because there was no save points. This game is a quick cash in for square and im happy i rented it.This doesnt even begin to compare with LO, let alone Blue Dragon.

So M$ had SE make it for a quick cash in, to draw the RPG fans to their system?

Well, that's unfortunate, thanks for the Heads up, TC!

I'm even disappointed in that game. It feels like the many, many RPGs I played on the PS2, and reminds me of Suikoden 3, my most disappointed RPG I ever played.

This game had so much potential to be better. Just when you think its gonna change it still sucks. The voice acting is terrible and it has LOTS of glitches. No wonder this game only sold well in Japan.

IMO, I wouldn't classify those JRPGs as great. The only 2 recent JRPGs I have played that I thought were great were Persona 3 FES and FF7 Crisis Core on PSP.

I'll agree with that. I play it a lot. Lots of depth and very amusing. I'm gonna spend quite a while on Disgaea 3.

I personally think Lost Odyssey is the only authentic jRPG that captures the whole narrative storytelling of its genre and successfully revives the genre into the HD era.

Of course, the DS remains the true jRPG King this gen : the sheer amount of jRPGs/sRPGs coming out for it in the next couple months are mind-boggling (and their quality are mostly AA level or more).

I am in total agreement with you on Persona 3 FES. It is a great game. Crisis Core disappointed me in its gameplay somewhat (the balancing of the difficulty levels is horrendous), but the story was great for a FF7-universe nut like myself.

I agree, especially if you have a sdtv. If you do you WILL NOT be able to read hardly a word on screen, or see any of the menus, it might as well be in Japanese. I played it for like 20 minutes or so and thought it looked awful, took it back and traded it for something else.
