on christmas my little cousins came over and of course like all kids they are wii-fanatics. so i set up the wii in front of my dad's new samsung 720p dlp.

big mistake.

we were playing wii sports, the baseball one, and no matter what you say kids are going to make those exaggerated movements. I kept telling her you could just flick your wrist, you don't have to do the full movement, but they wouldn't listen. Next thing you know she flings my brother's wii-mote into the the tv stand, just barely missing the new tv:o. I almost had a heart attack. Good news was the wii-mote didn't break (hats off to nintendo for making a durable product).8)

anyone else break a sweat when you let little kids play on your wii? :?

Tell them to properly wear their wrist straps. If they don't listen, that's when you slap the kid and kick them out. (probably a bit less violent though)

Kids can't play the Wii properly.

It wasn't designed for them. It was designed for grown up people.

Just tell them to wear the wrist strap.

It doesn't matter if they wear the wrist strap or not, kids always make their way closer and closer to the TV. I make my kids play Wii sitting down after they put a nice scratch on my TV.

We found Wii also plays better just flicking your wrist anyway.

I think its sad when parents spend 250$ for a Wii for their kids because they think its the perfect gift its not for kids under 6

They give you wrist straps for that reason.

The Wii hardware itself is not ment to be handled by little children/ The games could use a little more maturity though.

Whenever my little brother plays I ALWAYS tell him to wear the wriststrap

That's why you tell them to wear the wrist strap.

And if they don't listen, well scold them.

I sometimes feel like choking my 8-year old cousin when we play Tennis. I tell him the same thing you told them, you don't need to put that much force into swinging, just move your wrist. But noooo he needs to do acrobatic summersaults and dives for no reason and has to get in front of the tv which pisses me off.

Force them to wear the wriststraps, and then say something like "it doesn't work if you don't use the wriststrap".

My 3 year old does fine, she wears the wrist strap and has yet to let go of the controller. I can see how an over excited child could throw the controller though.

Uh, what are you talking about? I don't know where you got that, but it couldn't be more wrong.

My niece and nephew (both under 4) can ONLY play the Wii. When playing something like the 360 they can't even control the character, dual analogs are too complicated for them. They just constantly run things into walls and stuff. On the other hand they love to play Wii Sports, especially bowling.

The Wii was designed in many aspects for children in mind.... from the simple control scheme all the way down to a huge portion of the games that are kid-friendly.

These modern Kids are so coddled. I got my *** kicked when I did something wrong, and I've never been "Traumatized" or violent even once. I never committed a single crime, even speeding. I learned how to use a computer when I was 4. I learned how to read while trying to use DOS.

The console might not be built for kids but most of the games sure are.

I fully support a small bit of harsher punishment for harsher faults but you know how legal issues are now a days.

ya well college girls have a problem with being as open minded into ideas naive highschool girls are in ways to play with me and my wii so when i get back home from break i go hit them up (it helps that i have a car and im not bad looking ) ... It leads to some very kinky situations :)
either way, back to the topic, the wii is made for kids !!!
