Casual and non-gamers don't WANT an Xbox 360. They don't WANT a PS3.
They want to play Wii Sports and WarioWare. No price drop can make them want a 360/PS3 over a Wii.

People want what suits them best. So if 360 suits they will get it. If PS3 suits them they will get it. If the wii suits them they will get it. See were i'm goin with this?Hockey_Slayer
The PS3 doesn't suit that many people.

I didn't say it did. But if it do suit that person I am guessing that the person will get it. Unless there a little short on cash. But they would get it eventually.

I think, for the most part, you're right. Yes, there are those ultra-gamers out there that just love video games and will probably own all three systems. There's also those who are just big Nintendo fans and will buy the Wii for that reason.
But, and I'll say it again, for the most part, your average "gamer" is going to buy the 360 or the PS3 because of the cutting edge technology inside that will give the best graphics and game play. Those same people may by a Wii as a secondary unit. I know i will so i can play with my wife and kid. A lot of families are like that. My aunt just bought a Wii for my grandma's house so that all mof my little cousins can play it there. We're talking about my grandma's, a place that would never see a video game unless a grandkid brought it over. Grandma's has a Wii.
You really gotta think that the bulk of the hype and the bulk of what will make the Wii is the pop-culture of it. Its that its popular by the masses. And its popular to the masses because of its draw with the interactivity and not having to worry about pressing "so many" buttons.
And if you agree that its the ease of not having all of those buttons that makes the Wii a pop hit, than you have to see how its all about the "casual" gamer.
Right?!?
Why must people always bash ps3

And now? With the PS3? Sony has become the "evil overlords" they once toppled for us - $599 is a slap in the face to those of us who made Sony gaming what it was - Sony, in their arrogance, knowing the three generation curse, knowing that they had once taken the crown from a corporation that became greedy, make the same mistakes as Nintendo before them, and got greedy.
I wish this generations "Playstation" had been something else, but it seems that the Wii is becoming this generation what the Playstation was in 1994 - a dethrowning bullet. Microsoft and Sony are dividing and conquering Sony's empire, because Sony betrayed the philosophy that made them #1 in the first place.
So to answer your question - why do I have anger towards the PS3? There was, literally, no excuse for how badly they screwed up. It was the Playstation, there isn't a better brand in existance to be working with, all they had to do was make another $299 console that was in the same ballpark (graphically) as the Xbox 360, release it with a few months of the 360, nail the backwards compatibility, and wham - they were done.
Instead? They bet on Blu-Ray, "the cell", and other technologies - they built a high-priced media device for a market that wanted a gaming console. They blew it, badly. Instead of learning from the failure of media-functions in consoles that came before them, they gambled the brand name, and frankly a good chunk of the company, on something that anyone with half a brain could have told them was going to lose them a ton of money.

See? That's EXACTLY what I'm talking about.A non-gamer's opinions about gaming has the same amount of weight a civilian has when they talk to professional soldiers about combat.

What a whiny, fanboy, weak rant. Have we all not heard this before??? "$600 is way too much. Mommy doesn't love me. Bill Gates is my friend." Come on, dude.
We that have purchased the PS3 and those who come to light in the future know that the PS3 is a great machine. At worst, wecows have paid $400 for a game system and $200 for a blu0ray player. i know you've heard that before too. But how is it not true?
Oh, lemmings always say, "At least 360 has games." Excuse me? Besides Gears, what major title has 360 had, EXCLUSIVELY, that knocked PS3 to its butt? (**crickets chirp over the cold silence**)
I'm not going to go into the movie strength of blu-ray, we all know that. $200 is a great deal if you own a HDTV.
What about quality? So far, which console has done better? I think we all know the answer to that. And which one has a better "fit and finish"? Which one actually looks like its worth its money? Which one actually has all of its core components included in the system and not attached via power cord? I need not go on.
Yes, there have been massive delays on some os PS3's biggest features. But we all know they're coming. Even you Plug_One. We all saw Sony's Gamer's day. There's no way you can actually believe Ps3 is flopping as you say.
