Doom 4 announced

Doom 4 is the upcoming installment of the Doom series by id Software. It was announced by John Carmack at QuakeCon on August 3, 2007.

That would be really cool if they went back and made another 2d doom.

W/e, I thought Doom 3 was great so I wouldn't mind another.

Anyway, why do you post random things. You really lose a lot of credibility that way. Anyway, it wasn't "announced" per-se, but rather implied. He said that after they finish RAGE, they start making Doom 4 and Quake 5. That's all they said. I could have pretty much expected that from them.

Doom 3 wasn't bad it just wasn't that great. It was worth one play through.

Doom4, new quake, and new Wolfenstein! Maybe i should play all of the old ones to celebrate... or cause they're really fun :)

It was designed that way for gameplay... and please don't start with the "that doesn't makes sense," cause nothing ever has to make sense in Doom.

Impossible. i doubt it. but if they're really doing it, here is a warning for id guys = MAKE A CONTRACT ON CLIVE BARKER and maybe you guys can SAVE DOOM'S NAME AND RESPECT, them, MAKE A CONTRACT ON SOME OLDSCHOOL PLAYERS to help you (this is the part when the creator becomes obsolete and the creature become a lot better). any of you wants my phone? any of you id dudes are reading my post? probably not... oh well

They've also mentioned a new Quake Arena game, which isn't zero. That's what I'm most excited for.

I loved Doom 3, and the expansion. I dont know why it was so unpopular. One of my favourite games of last gen, even. :)Ninja-Vox

The majority of the complaints I see is that you can't use your gun and flashlight at the same time. I know it's unplausible and that a space marine with high tech weapons should have a flashlight on his gun, but I think it was a great idea. I loved having to switch back and forth in a frenzy, it made the game much scarier imo.

fast paced shooter. that was the technique. hardly seeing on doom R.E.. just make it come back, end of story

The fact that you had to switch the gun back and forth thus forcing a couple seconds where you couldn't see or fire, made it a little harder. Although the game was still not too bad on the level below hell, hell was just insane though, one hit and you're dead pretty much.

you gotta be kidding. i dont know a single player who liked it or easily accepted this fact... doom 3 is nonsense... this flashlight up and down makes a boring noise all the time...check cleck....oh...a dark space. wheres my flash light... here...check cleck...oh it was nothing. let me holster it...check cleck...check cleck....check cleck... (lag...) NO MAN IN UNIVERSE would try the lucky in HELL (ohoho) without a flash light. im mean, paste it in the gun with a liquid clue marine

I did beat it on the level below it though, Veteran. I just looked at the game and it's called Nightmare, not hell. lol But Nightmare was just insane.

yeah it is insane on nightmare, but still not fast paced. they tried on the expansion, they almost did it well
