Looking amazing. also remove Glory kills.
this is how you do video game. pure badass, non woke.
Yeah overall looking great. It looks like a more logical evolution of 2016 than Eternal was. Between the platforming and matching up the right weapon with the right scenario, I thought Eternal required a bit too much thinking. It's DOOM! I want to just smash the crap out of everything after work.
Like Eternal, this also looks like it may be a bit too story heavy. Drip feed it ID. It's honestly not the best part of the series. I much preferred the way 2016 handled it's story. It felt like it was put in there as a kind of joke. "And a continent was felled by the slayer slamming it over his shoulder: his rage unabated" kind of silly....I loved that.
But the gameplay in this looks class. More running and gunning and smashing and parrying (will I finally master parrying? No). Looks very cool. Then giant mechs too with comically oversized miniguns.....yep sounds great.
Note: I don't mean to rag on Eternal was I thought it was great overall. But it had issues.
Also one thing....ID...ID...listen....one notch up/down on the scroll wheel should be an immediate move up/down on the weapons bar. I shouldn't be waiting to scroll through the weapons. If I am on the pistol and I go 3 notches up on the scroll wheel then I should be straight to the...er assault rifle? Or is it plasma rifle? Anyway it should be to the 4th weapon on the bar. Straight away. No flicking between weapons.
Regardless what people here say about Ghost's take, I am right behind him and this is what miss about game developers, sharing their passion on the game and totally showing you so much gameplay and none of the BS cinematic trailer behind the scenes. It is very rare seeing game developers going to deep dive and for that, I'm picking this up on Steam day one purchase coming in May 15th. (and that's 5 more days till my birthday)
Doom is still one of my favorite Christian games of all time. (And no, I ain't religious, just Spiritual)
@R4gn4r0k: To be fair he wouldn't even buy it for 1 euro, he steals everything.
You can track the day a game gets "cracked" simply by reading one of Ghosts thread about said game.
Once it's cracked he will play the game for 2hts and then jump on SW to post about it. True story.

Yes that is quite the coincidence.
Don't you find it ironic that he would make threads about games, almost as if to sway people to buy certain games, but refuses to buy them himself?
There is a word for that. Sanctimonius, but I think there might be a better word for it still.
Sleezy?
2016 had just the right amount of story.
Eternal's was dumb and in hindsight should've just skipped it. (The cutscenes, not the game)
Ultimately not that important.... looks good
@last_lap: What’s hilarious is calling him out on it and he’ll never reply…he’ll read and probably scoff at himself and continue to ignore it; yet he’ll respond when you quote him on playing as a female or nudity in Metro was one that I called him out on years ago 😂
@boiled-hotdug: I'm pretty sure he lives in Russia or Eastern Europe where piracy is socially acceptable and where pirated copies are more present in stores than actual legal copies.
But yeah it is pretty half hearted how he keeps brushing this off like it's nothing. He keeps death knelling this industry while at the same time preaching they should make hardcore manly man games aimed squarely at him. Dumb
xbox studio's reaching out and offering the ps5 part of the Xbox family the opportunity to enjoy greatness!

Yeah, game looks awesome for sure. Pretty hyped for this game. Will check out that video later.
Hey old friend. Im aqc Tually not feeling what I'm seeing from this game. I'm still going to track it though! LOL
Looks ok so far. I'm definitely not sure if I want a melee focused Doom game, but I like hearing that there are still a lot of weapons, and I like that they say it's more like the old Doom games, with more exploration, strafing being more viable and junk.
Don't like the return of armor, ammo and health popping out of demons, or that bigass purple ring showing you can do a glory kill, but whatever.

They ditch glory kills and now people want glory kills back. lol.

**** no. It's like idSoftware listened to my complaints, I'm happy.
Find this series moving further and further away from the formula that I enjoy from D00M. D00M 2016 was very enjoyable to me, while I found DUSK to be even better to what I enjoy from a FPS campaign D00M as a series went for a 'broaden its audience' angle with Eternal that doesn't sit with me. Eternal is essentially trying to be a first person DMC game, and my stance on that is the above 'not my D00M'.
For those who enjoyed Eternal and wanted the series moving even further in that different direction? honestly enjoy. Just because a game isn't scratching my itch doesn't make it bad, it's just not a game I want to play.

Doom 2016 and Dusk is peak FPS genre, I don't think games can do it any better than those two.
Doom 2016 coming back with an amazing E3 trailer, me preordering at the spot and playing the game day one, it was just an enjoyable experience from beginning to end.
@R4gn4r0k: D00M 2016 was like an old close friend coming back for a visit and was very welcome.
Recall the media and forums hating on the upcoming D00M at the time because it was all Fallout 4 hype_
Back in the day made a thread for D00M 2016 on Games Discussion and majority responses wasn't interested, again favoring FO4. Media really shoved FO4 down everyone's throat. Glad the game did well enough in its own right to inspire the Indie & AA scene, id Software simply had different plans.
