Rage 2 for sure.
I prefer games that have a variety of things going on - whether it's unique weapons, an interesting story, or plenty of tactical options.
Doom has plenty of variety too.
I can't say I was too impressed with the gameplay of Doom4. I actually thought Doom3 was much better. I preferred the slower pace and brooding atmosphere.
These new Doom games just seem too fast paced and hectic to allow for much thinking.
I don't know any fps where I think while playing, unless maybe stealth involved.
F.E.A.R series. It wasn't just run n gun; there were some tactics involved too.
Deus Ex series. Maybe it's not pure fps, but still.
Far cry series: Again maybe not pure fps but still...
Dead Space series
Borderlands: there were at least a few principles that needed to be adhered to
Rage: Definately a variety of cool weapons - inviting the opportunity for tactics
Metro 2033: Most of the thinking was probably about ammo conservation but at least that's something...
and I can think of a whole host of other games where there are a variety of elements to spice up gameplay. Whether that be things like suit properties, bullet-time or some other kind of special ability or weapon...
Also I think alot of it has to do with the sheer speed and number of enemies. I just felt like most of Doom was just run/strafe/shoot - and the glory kills didn't really help much to spice up the combat.
