Dragon Age 2 - Ps3, Xbox 360 & PC Comparison

Mediocre textures for everyone! Not full dx11 support in the demo. All versions will probably look better when the full release comes.

Suprisingly good controls on console, though it was going to be horrible but it was really good.

I'm willing to cut the PC version some slack for now. While you can activate dx11, it seems to be dx9 with terrible performance in the sense that SLI'd 460s or even something with twice that speed won't be enough to even make it playable.

I'll agree that medium settings, which is as high as dx9 goes, looks awfull.

I'm doing my own comaprison tonight. I've played the PC version, I'm basically looking at the console versions control wise.

PC of course has the edge, but the differences in the PS3 and 360 versions are nothing to split hairs over. The game's strength is not it's visuals anyway. As for myself, I have the 360 version pre-ordered just so I can actually have something else to play on my 360.

Why are those first pics in psp format? How can we tell the difference?

We need a 720p vs 1080p at full size comparison to see the true difference.

Which is odd since I thought the whole point of the first one was to make an old school baulder's gate type rpg.

I played the demo on PS3, and it's definitely an improvement over DA:O visually. Controls do work surprisingly well also, I was surprisingly tactical :P ( (Although the Ogre battle took me 15 minutes as everyone apart from my mage with healing spells died)Ravensmash

Listen, wtf?? Badly designed demo?? I did the same thing...Everyone in my group died, I was running around with the OGRE chasing me for 15 minutes until my cooldowns were ready. Plus quick heal you could only use once every 30 seconds or something.

The art design in ME is way better. The characters and the worlds do not look cartoony or barren and most importantly, the faces show emotions in dialogue. ME have a style of its own without loosing in realism. Plus I have some issues with voice acting in DA2 aswell, an area in which ME excelled.

I don't know why you insist on this. Every one can see that the quality of the graphics is mediocre. You like the artsyle though and that's cool for you.

The fact that you call it dreamwork and pixar quality tells a lot about where the artstyle is heading. Far from what Bioware aimed in the beginning of the serie. I remember very well when they said that Dragon age serie will be a dark fantasy and DA2 today looks far from it.

Even though the graphics are not great I'm still pumped for the game. I believe that the gameplay and story (I hope) will overshadow that weakness.

I played the demo on 360, and wow did it look horrible. Better than DAO, though. But that isn't saying a whole lot. I'm downloading the demo on PS3 right now to see how it is.

Dragon Age: Origins on consoles - Edge of Reality.
Dragon Age 2 on consoles - BioWare.

Negativity towards new games (mostly sequels) this year is really depressing. It's sad that people cannot deal with changes, even when they're clearly improvements. My advice would be to go play your old games again, and enjoy your nostalgia. I'll move forward. Thanks. ;) 8)Elann2008

Devs are screwed either way sometimes. This game is a firstday buy for me though.

I'm not going to judge simply from a demo, since it isn't the full game with all textures, plus a lot of things were locked.

I'll make my decision once I boot the pre-ordered game on release day.

I've played all 3 versions and find that both the PS3 and 360 demos play rather well with the changes. THe PC version will still be my go to, but at least the combat in the sequel seems to be better suited to a controller. I was also happy to see Flemith's pretty awesome return.

I'm looking forward to this game. The graphics look fine for me.

My only complaint so far is that I can't auto level up my extra players. Why would they take that out? Of course maybe I'm just missing something, but I sure don't see it.
