Depends, some chopped up trailers can make something seem better than it actually is. Take for example 300, this movie was "ok", not as great as people made out, but the trailer was awesome, it made it seem incredibly epic.

narative driven movies/games don't make good trailers.

Besides, the only reason they even had that trailer was because their fans wanted it...
