Yes, it seems the original ps3 version of the game will be localized.

Hell yeah. I love musou games. Especially mashup musou games. I totally bought Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 yesterday knowing it's going to be terrible. Yeah!

It's made by the same studio that makes every musou game. Plus the gameplay shows obvious musou genes.

It seems to have a few more rpg elements than usual from what i've seen (not much though), but still looks like a musou game imo. It is suppose to be a spin off series after all.

Eh. I like the artstyle and all, but couldn't care less for this particular genre of game. If it were a proper DQ, it would be a different story. Maybe a sign of things to come? That would be nice.

I rather have DQ VII for the 3DS to come to the West then this other Hyrule Warrior clone. And to be honest I don't think this game will sell so well here because sadly the DQ games are not as popular as Final Fantasy in the West.

They are very popular in Japan but not the rest of the world. And also a lot of gamers will not recognize these characters compared to Hyrule Warriors since a lot of gamers knows about Zelda because unless you're Japanese I'm sure not many people will care who these characters are.

But it's still cool that this game is coming out but like I said I wish DQ 7 had also be released here as well.

The fanboy in me just came. I love Dragon quest to death and being able to play as the characters from the series sounds awesome.

@deadline-zero0: I'm still waiting for Dragon Quest X. That's the only thing I want right now. I still never finished the other 8 games though. lol!! I beat the first Dragon Quest game on the NES many, many years ago. Still playing V & VI on 3DS.

I do like that this game has many of the characters from the previous Dragon Quest games. The game doesn't look like it's been improved for the PS4 though. Still looks like a PS3 game really.

I'd say Square-Enix is pretty accurate in the way that they describe their games. Even if they weren't all the impressions I've read so far from people already playing it point to it being an action RPG. If you don't want to believe that then that's on you.

I get the feeling they're going to pull a Namco Bandai with those games (see: Tales of Graces).

This is a joke post, right? One is a 100+ hour old school RPG that will require so much money to translate and sell like shit while the other is an action RPG on the most popular current gen console with not much competition in terms of software. And with a gameplay style much easier to get into for people who aren't fans of the series. It's not even a comparison.

Dragon Quest X is an even more absurd notion. You can't seriously be asking that.

Hyrule warriors is awesome I'll definetly pick DQH on PS4. I was hoping this would come to the west but i didn't think it would.

@Aljosa23: yes I am because I actually do want that MMO Dragon Quest and a 100+ hour Handheld RPG remake of a PS1 game than another mindless hack and slash for the PS4.

Also, I want those games, too. But it's not surprising to see them choosing to localize this game over those other two.

My thoughts exactly... I mean, as others have said, localizing DQX probably isn't the best idea although I'd love to have it, they need to fucking localize DQ7 remake even if it does require a lot of resources and time. It has a large following and a bunch of people signed the petition to get it localized.

I damn sure don't want to have to fucking pay $100-$200 for the shitty PS version.

People have been streaming it from Japan. It looks much better than the Dynasty Warrior game on ps4. I really like the DQ character designs in next gen.
