Driveclub, Playstations Ryse.

So ive been following driveclub for a while. Initially I was drawn in by the amazing graphics and will admit to being pretty darn amped for it to release. But, as time goes by and I see more of the game...well, it looks pretty I suppose. Ryse was meant to be a show of what, graphically, the X1 was capable of. I now feel the same about Driveclub. Very pretty, and an exercise in what the console can do, but otherwise lacking and rather shallow from a gameplay standpoint. I also feel that more than a few people who are hyping this game are doing so purely because another certain racing game isn't on their console.

no... its just another stupid racing game that happened to go through development hell. It was never ever implied that they were going for stellar graphic and pushing the PS4 either, so i dont know where you get that this game is the PS4's showcase graphics tittle

Is it gonna flop? yes.

But will it flop as hard as Ryse? no becuz Drive Club is seen by most already as already a flop and not many are interested in getting it, unlike Ryse where it got hyped as AAAe 9/10 CONFIRMED XBOX ONE'S MEGA EXCLUSIVE.

From a hype of 9/10 to a flop of 4/10 is huge.

I dont even think DC has any hype behind it.

I thought that was The Order 1886? At least that's what I've been hearing all around the internet. I heard Driveclub was good though.

Well I am for one looking forward to it.

Not really a fan of racing/car games, in fact the only one I did like was Dirt 2. I might give Driveclub a chance though if I have nothing else to finish/play when it comes out.

We'll, Drive Club has already won goty on a few gaming sites, so I don't think its a flop incoming.

Killzone was PS4's Ryse.. It was a tech demo for graphics but the game was very shallow, short and poorly designed.

Driveclub looked like crap at first, it was delayed, they hired some new developers and made some design changes and it looks a lot better now, in graphics and in gameplay. Still don't know if it will be any good but they made an effort from when it was originally shown - it's coming out a year late ffs

Personally, I have a inherent dislike for DriveClub I will admit, and it has nothing to do with the merits of DriveClub itself. It's just that I really loved Evolution Studios when they were making the Motorstorm games, and I really would love to see what they could achieve on a next gen console with the series. But no, if DriveClub does well I guess we could say goodbye to that ever happening as they'll probably continue to attempt to capitalize on DriveClub all through the generation. Anyhow, if it's worth a damn I'm sure I can warm up to it, considering I get a PS4.

From gameplay footage I've seen Driveclub looks like a solid racing title..

though i think there is a much greater chance of a new Motorstorm game if DriveClub succeeds. If DriveClub fails, I have a feeling Evolution will not survive to make another game.

I'd say The Order is the PS4's Ryse, seems like all flash no substance from what we've seen so far. Driveclub is a gorgeous looking game but it won't compete with the other racers releasing around the same time.

Driveclub doesn't strike me as bland and unimaginative which was the main problem with Ryse.

Yeah, it looks good. It also doesn't have QTEs, so it's already better than Ryse. I don't understand this comparison/association.

Whoa no fair to Ryse comparing it to Drive Club. Ryse had more than 50 executions.. in fact almost twice as many executions as Drive Club has cars

Now I remember Ryse getting a high hype score, hell I even said I am rolling the dice when I voted for it. But that game from the time it was revealed was called a Kinect title, QTE, super linear trash. You need to go read the hype thread again. Nobody saw a 4 coming, but the comments weren't all hyping this game that much.

DriveClub looks like a great racing game, not to arcadey but not to far into simulation, But not sure tho but The Crew does look better and I must admit Horizon looks great.

In my honest opinion i have no clue why the .... the developers of MotorStorm a fun arcade racer with a twist, decided to go for a pretty bog standard racing game, honestly it is baffling, the market is full of games like this, flooded, MotorStorm esp the first and second game were unique and in there own class of racers which was unrivaled. honestly don't have a clue why they thought the best thing would be to just follow the norm

the ps4 already has Knack....that game is worst and came out before Ryse.

I think Driveclub will be good. Although it's nothing like Burnout Paradise. I get that vibe from the gameplay I have seen. It just seems like it's going to be competitive and fun

The tears from insecure lems about PS4 exclusives is seemingly non-stopped. The day before yesterday it was the Order 1886, yesterday it was Bloodborne and today its Drive Club LMAO

This is why I see lems as the biggest idiots of all the fanboys, they spend the most time bashing games on systems they don't own and aren't fans of because of the insecurity they feel from choosing a console with games they and other people don't seem to care about.

Ryse actually looked somewhat interesting though. Driveclub is just another generic racer in a sea on generic racers.

Drive Club was the reason I pre-ordered a PS4 is was a must have launch title for me.. It's now one of the reasons why I got rid of the PS4...

Racing games in general are not all that fun. I used to be crazy about Gran Turismo back in the PS1 days, but they just don't seem to hold my attention anymore. I think Drive Club is doomed to mediocrity after all of this time. It might look nice, but I just have a feeling it will be a pretty shallow experience....Kind of like Ryse. But that said, I have enjoyed Ryse quite a bit. I see Drive Club getting a 7 or maybe an 8 at best here at GS.

Insecurity about PS4 exclusives??? All I see on the PS4 are a bunch of mediocre, generic games. Bloodborne looks incredibly boring and the graphics look like something on the PS3. The Order 1886 is now looking like another typical Sony hype machine gone bad! This game isn't going to hit 1080p or 60fps and the way you Cows talk, that is the only acceptable way that games are made in this generation. Everything else is garbage...or so you say!!! But then again if its on the PS4 it's all good right!! Then it is an artistic choice by the devs and has nothing to do with hardware limitations. Sony's first party games are becoming more urban legend than they are legendary!!
