DS game to win GOTY?

In what is shaping up to be the year of the DS, does anyone else think a DS game has a serious, serious shot of winning GOTY this year? I know it's a bit early, but with two AAAE titles so far and GS awarding Scribblenauts Game of the Show at E3 this year, it seems very possible that Scribblenauts, or even possibly Chinatown Wars, will wind up being GotY. We're halfway through the year and the breakdown for AA, AAA titles for the DS is as such:

AAA
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars - 9.5
Big Bang Mini - 9.0

AA
Henry Hatsworth and the Puzzling Adventure - 8.5
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride - 8.5
Pokemon Platinum - 8.0
Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars (Director's Cut) - 8.0

Right there, we see a game bound to be nominated for platformer of the year, adventure game, and shooter. Good year to be a DS.

nah, the DS should've won it already with the World Ends with you. IF even that game didn't stand a chance, I don't think anything ever will :P

My spidey-sense tells me that GOTY is reserved exclusivly for PS360 games.

A handheld getting it strikes me as impossible and I'd be rather suprised if a PC game would get it even if it was the best game all year.

Edit: MGS4 as gfx king fx? great looking game but to say it was the best was a matter of ignoring the technical scrutiny while adoring the presentation.

No uncharted 2 will be winning that.

Commercial success =/= critical success

if scribblenauts is what the developers says it is, and if the items you conjure truly are unique, then I think it actually has a shot.

I really excited for this game.

GTA:CW, and Scribblenauts seem like they'll be contenders for GOTY assuming Scribblenauts is as great as the big gaming sites claim it is (we trust them right? :P)

whats that even mean? What graphics means to most people is the way the game looks...if a game looks better than every other game available it will be said that it has the best graphics...your the only one that looks at the technical side of it

If we follow this board's hype it'll be between Uncharted 2 and Scribblenauts.

The DS is always getting stellar games! Last year The World Ends With You was my choice for GOTY(followed closely by MGS4), and with the originality and quality of some of the DS games we've seen(and what we've seen of future releases) i have no doubt some DS games will be making some GOTY lists for me.

It's down to Brutal Legend, FM3, and Scribblenauts, as those will be the only titles that'll be worthy to carry the "GOTY" badge.

It deserves platform of the year, and it could have had a game of the year if it were not a taboo.
Handheld games are Supposed to be worth less than console games.
