"Despite the old school feel, the level design holds up tremendously. So long as you can deal with some over-the-top humor, you'll have fun with Duke all over again. 8/10"

Sweet, another great game for the Vita. Will you be picking this up? Review says it is cross buy.

I don't like the level design or gameplay in the first level so far. I'll play more.

Happy the Vita has a fairly decent FPS library.

Yeah. It can be very confusing and maze-like. Requires tons of backtracking and scouring rooms for keys and hidden passages. That's why I never liked this game very much.

@Comduter: Does this pattern continue? Part of the annoying navigating gets worse when a random shotgun donning enemy nails you in the chest randomly. I would say the replay system mitigates the frustration, but the load times are too fucking long

That's a retro FPS for you. I remember this being the case with Wolfenstein and Doom. Not to mention, a lot of these shooters back then had multiple paths to clear one level, instead of just one freaking corridor.

The old Duke Nukems aren't that great.

A lot of old FPS games aren't. In fact, I'd go as far to say they're shit. Though I assume this new one has some slight modifications, but I never cared to play it on PC.

Old school FPS games used to be so fun. New ones are crappy except for few games.

I've got a soft spot for sprite based fps games. Maybe if I ever find an OLED Vita brand new, but I doubt it.

PC version can be moded to the point where it becomes an entirely new fully 3d game.

I'm cool with having multiple pathways and places to explore, but I hate confusing maze-like level design.

Have you never played this game before? I remember when I was a kid playing this on PC. One of the first PC game I ever played.

The game's been on Steam first for a while.

@Heirren: that probably won't happen, and there's a fair amount of vita fans who will tell you to just get the slim.

However, I have a Sony refurbished OLED and it's pretty much good as new
