i dont download anything on ps3 or 360 and dont see the point in why people keep saying download content will take over everything i actually like owning the dvd myself at least i wont delete it on accident or something. dcm06you can delete a xbla game on your 360 and re download it for no charge.
Can anone outside of the US even download movies on XBL? I know Canada can't. Illumination77

That's all about licensing, and it's messed up laws up here in Canada.Â
ots too early for downloading full 360 games. 50MB games are fine but 5+GB (and some games going into the 10s of GB)? peoples download limits would be reached very easily. access is also too slow or non existent in many areas. still by 2010 who knows. its a bit premature for this gen (regarding massive downloads of full games) but next gen or the gen after i can definately see it coming.
imho the best thing MS could have done was to have some sort of spin off of HD-DVD (or something completly different) where the discs are around 15GB in size and are really optimized for quick access, low latency and high bandwidth. something like the GC drive but better and with a larger capacity. 12X DVD is pretty good but the drive is very noisy (same with my PC drive which is a 16X dvd drive).
sure... we'll be downloading 9 gig games on 120GB harddrive.... right.....CHRIS_K_UKi dont think he meant this gen.
We're going to download 10 gigabyte games onto our hard drives? Since when is that going to happen on the 20 gigabyte NON-STANDARD hard drives on the Xbox 360? You REQUIRE, literally, REQUIRE the 120 gigabyte model for this service to function...and it's particularly limited in this respect. It is called the Elite. It released over a year after the original Xbox 360 SKUs. It is not a standard drive. For over 90% of all Xbox 360 owners, digital distribution via Xbox Live will not be an answer for any game of any consequence...no game that could NOT fit on the DVD-9 would fit on anybody's hard drive. And not even everybody has a hard drive.
Only one full retail game to date is being released via digital distribution on any new console. That's Warhawk...for the PS3. Remember? That's the console where the smallest hard drive SKU has been discontinued, meaning 90% of the users, for contrast, have a 60 gigabyte hard drive. It also has a Blu Ray drive.
Sounds to me like digital distribution never was Microsoft's plan. Evidence: the 64mb memory card for the Xbox 360 retailed for $40. I bought a 512 MB sandisc card for $20 for the PSP....and it's about 1/10 of the size.Â

Yeah. He meant this Gen. That's why he referenced the Xbox 360, DVD-9 drives, and the Xbox 360 Elite.Â
