Seems like a crappy optimized game on all platforms. Not really pushing anything out of any system.

I'll pick this up when it's patched up a lot on PC.

Total crap that can't be prove is already more than 1 year the excuses about miss use of ESRAM and even worse no use are a joke.

There isn't a game lock on 30 which is 27 on PS4 because of the CPU.

I'M CALLING OUT ALL FANBOYS!!!

I want to clear something up: the reports of screen tearing on Xbox One are wildly overexaggerated. The game very rarely tears frames AND IF IT DOES HAPPEN, then what we see aren't fully torn frames so that they occupy considerably little amount of vertical space, the game very quickly refreshes and it IS NEVER A DISTRACTION because it barely even registers in the human eye, and it happens so infrequently that it isn't a problem in the least.

Secondly, the framerate is good, again DF exaggerates just because they see something and point it out - it doesn't mean it happens frequently. I'd say the game is on par with X1 version of Alien Isolation performance-wise.

TL;DR: if you haven't played Xbox One version - GET THE **** OUT OF HERE before you start commenting.

Lol it doesn't run great on the Xbox, there's tearing out the wazoo and frequent drops in frames into the twenties.

To quote Digital Foundry: "To cut a long story short, we recommend avoiding the Xbox One version of Dying Light if you have trouble getting on with screen-tear."

Have you played the X1 version or do you just take DF at a face value?

I've only had one tangible instance of texture streaming when an NPC had his t-shirt logo tacked on at the very last moment before I had a convo with him.

Again, playing the game is so much more objective than taking someone else's words at face value.

I'm sure that will probably be the case with many people as well playing the game on either console where it happens infrequently enough to not be a nuisance. Still, there may be a small pool of people with the misfortune of running into the issue with more frequency for whatever reason, and perhaps DF happened to be among those with such misfortune.

I don't trust them because they have pics like this but barely mention the problems. And no I don't trust them, not when they say CoD Ghosts was clearly in higher resolution on PS4, when they had the same resolution when they tested it...

The only people I have heard ever say Infamous SS has a dead world is a few notorious xbox fanboys on this forum. the world is far from "dead" , lol... AC dev admited that dropping the crowd sizes did nothing to the framerate on ps4, which rules out cpu. It was in a post on one of their patches. So that theroy is out, and it's just bad coding , as the game focused on XBox first due to "parity" and "marketing deals" with MS.

Oh, it's a zoomed in portion of a much bigger screen. Context matters. Still, I've not seen such disparity but I'm not really looking too far into the distance when I play.

Have you played the X1 version or do you just take DF at a face value?

You can see it in the video, maybe it's not as noticeable to you but it is to me. This also doesn't excuse the dips in the framerate.

hahahaha, keep believing that. If you still buy into system requirements, you're in for a huge surprise.

So far, not a single game out there, besides maybe Metro Redux, has needed anywhere near Ivy I7 and 770 to match a console. My 760 will, in fact, beat them easily, like always.

edit: oh, and using a future df comparsion, when you're still at Dying Light? lol, how about Evolve in a few weeks? Maybe the ps4 will finally beat a low end pc then.

When it is running, my frame rates swing from 75 fps to 20 fps which makes a very jarring experience. I have tried everything from lowering graphics setting, draw distance, turning vsync on and off....all to no avail. Im using a GTX970, an I53570k cpu at stock 3.4GHZ, 8 gig ram. But at this point i kind of wish i got the PS4 version so i could at least, you know, play the game.

Unity was mess up on PS4 on purpose and sunset has nothing you can compare it to directly is an exclusive.

Unity was a mess on both consoles, but the difference between Unity and Dying light is that Unity framerate drops where caused by the massive amount of AI taxing the cpu in the PS4, Dying light is taxing the gpu on the x1 when there is more GPU taxing stuff going on.

You can compare Sunset to SS? Infamous is a third person, open world, action game that even PS fans are saying the world is dead. Sunset is a 3rd person, open world game, action game, it just has more AI on screen than SS does during street fights.

I don't think he grasps the concept that dying light and Unity are two completely different games and that the issues are not down to the same reasons as the issues on Unity.

The problems with dying light on the Xbone are clearly down to the GPU whereas the Issues with UNITY on the PS4 where clearly down to the CPU.

Just ignore it, he will never concede that he is wrong and he will never acknowledge it when the Xbox actually beats the Playsation.

I find it funny that he posts these DF articles considering every time last gen they gave the 360 the nod he claimed it didn't matter because he couldn't tell the difference and that DF where full of shit and biased towards the 360.

He's an OK bloke really but he is a huge hypocrite and i find his anti MS obsession to be mildly disturbing, i worry about him sometimes.
