I have to disagree, only after playing the game for 200+ hours I got burnt out. Dynasty Warriors just fails at everything compared to Sengoku Basara.

Samurai Heroes is the easiest to get and get into if you want to know the story. I kind of suggest getting the double pack after you beat the story of SB3. That means you can put a lot of time into SB3 and you can import everything into Utage once you think your ready.

You can get the double pack here, but ebay might have a better price.

Samurai Heroes is the easiest to get and get into if you want to know the story. I kind of suggest getting the double pack after you beat the story of SB3. That means you can put a lot of time into SB3 and you can import everything into Utage once you think your ready.

Just skip the cutscenes by pressing start and go to a higher difficulty. Also, nothing about musou style games are realistic it would be completely boring if one was. Capcom took the logical direction and made one really over the top, thankfully Koei is slowly following the lead in that department.

Looks like the kind of game I'd play to release stress by beating anything in sight. :P Never played the series. May check it out eventually.

Having Capcoms fun twist on the events is, IMO, better than playing through the same story for several different games.

why would the story change?(although I did love what they did with 5's story with each character narrating their parts). Anyways, it's just mere preference, not trying to hate on the game since I had my share of fun with it(mostly as Magoichi though)

Since this is a DW thread we're talking about Dynasty Warriors. Romanticized? A lot of female characters in DW aren't even real (Kasuga in SB isn't real either) or they didn't even fight. The entire game is based on a novel, barely on history, people use magic, people pretty much fly on horses in cutscenes like the trailer in the OP, etc. Barely anything about it is historical or realistic.

Caring about realism and historical accuracy in a musou style game is stupid, it's like wanting realistic physics, destruction, and driving in Mario kart.

*sigh* fine we'll keep it to DW. And yes everyone knows that some of the female characters are combinations of multiple people where many of them didn't fight at all. And keep it to the actual game not trailers as both games have some pretty messed up stuff(you should have really used the Xiahou Dun defying gravity bit in the last game's movie). Anyways it's not barely related to history, in fact a large part of it is, but there of course is the novel part of it(yes I will use the term "romanticized", live with it), where there are mystics and the such along with a heavy bias towards making Shu that you would know having either read the novel itself, or looked through the history of the novels creation. Still it's more interesting at least to me to see at least the majority of the historical events in a game, and compare with what you know actually happened and the small adjustments the novel tweaked from history and then the game from the novel(including putting in people in other works of literature being in neither ROTK or history like Bao). Anyways...like I said it's just my preference so unless you want to press the issue further and forget about the original topic...that's pretty much all I have to say on that
