Electronic Arts or EA, the world's largest publisher and developer of games (market leader), believes that there is so much more potential in the Xbox 360 and PS3 to be focusing on next generation of games. In their upcoming Battlefield 3 game, EA stated that there's more than enough power to run the game how the developer intended audiences to experience it. A good programmer can optimized games so that it can run to the fullest even in older hardware. For example, iPhone4 hardware is outdated and weak by today's standard (single core 1.gz while the competition's phones carry dualcore 1.3ghz, more advance graphic chip, 2-3x more RAM) yet iPhone4's games graphically blow out the competition. How's this possible? Optimizing to a single hardware (iPhone4's hardware) instead of creating a game with wide range of optimizations (the infinite hardware of Androids/PCs).
