8.5 is a flop? That's system wars for ya.

Well, Crysis 2 and Mass Effect 2 PS3 were both hyped AAA, so they're real flops. Don't know about Dead Space 2.

It got a lower score for the weaker performance and more glitches despite being a year late.Sequels generally don't score as well as the original game. Who really cares that a port score marhinally lower than the original? All the games you listed got high score, the only one that had as significant drop was Dragon Age. I swear, system wars over blows the .5 difference.vashkey
No , it isn't that, it is just when SW hypes a game AAA and it gets AA or less, it is considered a flop. Like KZ3. Its just that, it does not determine how good the game is, it could be the best game on the planet, but it still flopped. :P
IDK what SW hyped these games but if they were hyped AAA, they flopped.
What are you talking about all of those games you mentioned were reviewed greatly. All of them have ratings above 80 on Metacritic, as a matter of fact EA and Sony have been consistently releasing great games this year since January..

*Looks up the definition of flop*
"A complete failure"
"Someone who is unsuccessful"
"An utter failure"
Yeah... None these describe Mass Effect 2, Crysis 2, Dragon Age 2 and Dead Space 2. I speak english, system wars can go and shove their definition up their ass. Exactly who decides what a game is supposed to score anyway? People have selective listening here. They'll go with the opinion of those who say the highest score so that the game has greater odds of failing.
Yes, all those games arent even worth playing. They"re all just terrible junk. (i hope you have sarcasm detector)dragon age 2 8.0 (dragon age pc 9.5)

Yeah, but everytime a "flop" comes by, the definition in this SW game is hyping it AA and it gets A or less, or AAAA and it gets blah blah blah, like that. Im not saying I agree with this, but thats what their definition is. Thats just what SW made one day and they stuck with it , to make forums explode eveyrtime a game flops
don't care Ea sucks John_Read
Used to.
They have been releasing good games for the last couple of years, redeeming themselves.

That looks like 4 great games to me. Dead Space 2 also scored a 9.0 on PS3.
Dragon Age is the only one that's close to a flop, it feels a bit rushed (horrible repeating environments, more streamlined story than Origins, etc).
Crysis 2 might be a flop to PC owners, but it's great for console gamers. Kind of reminds me of Metroid Prime in some ways, if only they pulled off a slightly better framerate and eliminated the AI glitches, would have been one of the best console games EVER IMO. Despite that it still has fewer issues than many games that score 9.0 and above.
I honestly think the problem is more with the websites inconsistent and biased scoring than with the games themselves (as if 8.5 means anything anyway). Black Ops is a rehash with flaws and scores a 9.0, Crysis 2 delivers a stronger campaign, more satisfying and diverse gameplay, much bigger environments, better graphics/game engine, and yet it scores .5 worse than Black Ops? Ummm. Ok. Hell Killzone 3 is miles better than Black Ops and also got a 8.5. It's like suddenly they arbitrarily made their scoring system .5-1.0 points stingier. This is after giving out perfect 10's at the beginning of the genereration and a whole bunch of 9.0's and 9.5's to games that probably didn't deserve it. If MW3 is as average as I expect it to be, and Gamespot STILL gives it a 9.0 or higher across all platforms, that will just confirm that they have a real problem with credibility.
such a sad thread, remember the days when people used to form there own opinions and didnt just blindly follow the review score of one single person? system wars doesnt...

It is funny if you think EA cares for what a single review says from Gamespot, trust me, noone cares

Win. I agree 110%. SW can keep doing as they please, and I'll keep posting here since it's funny. But I don't subscribe to the herd mentality for "flop" around here. Such a stupid game.
[QUOTE="sukraj"]
Crysis 2 isn't a flop.
hypoty
It was hyped AAA and it got AA, it flopped. It doesn't mean it's a bad game.
I don't remember people hyping it...
