I bet the same thing happens to BF3

If you already bought Crysis 2 on Steam, will you still be able to download it in the future if you need to (even if not's being sold anymore)?
Steam won't be screwed because the Publishers want profit and they'll make higher profit margins when Steam is distributing their games. Why? Because most people aren't going to want a DD client for every publisher on their PC. EA's attempt will fall apart in due time.I knew this would happen. Once DD takes over, Steam will be screwed because publishers will restrict their games to their sites.

I'm fairly certain you will. You don't install off the store page, you install from the library page.If you already bought Crysis 2 on Steam, will you still be able to download it in the future if you need to (even if not's being sold anymore)?

they will entice people by giving them the exlusive packs..not to anyone else (direct download)

actually it looks like we might not even have a choice. EA created ORIGIN to challenge Steam..they could very well make it so that we will need it to install and play the game.Haha. That's so underhanded of them. I don't want to have to sign up for yet another freakin' service. I'm still annoyed that I had to sign up for GFWL to play games I bought through Steam. MrSelf-DestructGoing to be awesome not being able to have all my games in one place.
It has origined.
I hope you'll all partake in the non-partaking of EA's dumb thing.
It really does sound really dumb doesn't it?
"No, I do not wish to sell my product in the largest digital store on the planet."
If EA wants to compete they should do so through the pricing of things, not by making things exclusive. That sort of behavior is frowned upon.
Lovely, more competition, go for it EA! :D
Well, I dunno... maybe they'll be fine like that? But if they actually try to compete for third parties to only go on Origin, then it'll be competition.. ifnot.. Damn them /rage.
I can't decide if it's good or bad.... if they don't compete, then it's bad, but obviously if they do it's good. They better still try to keep competative prices, it'd suck if every EA game just remained top dollar forever..

I'm baking EA a cake right now to show my appreciation. The icing is not really chocolate, though.
Battlefield 3... Mass Effect 3... good luck Steam.

So... what is Valve going to do to combat this new Origin site? They are gonna have to do something pretty impressive! IantheoneThey already did. Steam has my vote already.

Good luck not having support of the biggest independent publisher in the industry.

We're talking about Steam, the largest digital distribution platform for games on the PC by a huge margin, which is the gold standard. EA is a company that depends first and foremost on the sales of its software, and will be depending on their games to keep Origin afloat. Valve past that years ago, they've got the infrastructure and they've got the vast majority of developer support. Cutting steam out of the EA distribution network can easily compromise digital sales considering many gamers choose to stick to a proffered service, than you know, use one service client to run a particular set of games. Origin could easily co exist with Steam, quite frankly it'll have to if EA wants it to succeed, and give incentives to customers to use it than you know - burning bridges.Good luck not having support of the biggest independent publisher in the industry.

oh noes what are we to do, 2 games leaving our line up...get real bro...PC gamers are stubborn as hell, EA won't have success with this in the long run.
Dragon Age, Dead Space, Mirror's Edge... yeah two games. And PC gamers are not even more stubborn than console gamers.

Ready for everyone else to follow EA?
Sorry but EA can remove all of their games from Steam is they want, I won't use their Steam competitor. I've invested too much into Steam to explore new services. I'll just buy retail EA games from now on and add them to Steam. No big deal.Merex760It's EA... you should know better. You won't get half the game buying at retail than you would pre-ordering it on EA's service.
