EA says no PS3 version of Mass Effect!!

EA has told videogaming247 that any rumours regarding a PS3 port of its hit BioWare space RPG, Mass Effect, are... wrong.

It was expected that the franchise would go multiplatform after EA acquired BioWare from MGS for $860m back in Oct 2007. Rumours of a PlayStation 3 port have persisted ever since.

"The rumour regarding Mass Effect being developed for PS3 is inaccurate," said the rep. "Hope that helps."

When we asked whether that means any future games in the franchise would remain solely on 360 the rep replied:

"Impossible for EA to provide comment on this given that no such games have been announced."

Rumours of a sequel were rife earlier this month when a CMPEvents listing revealed that BioWare's Corey Andruko and Dusty Everman are to hold a talk on Mass Effect 2's level design at GDC 09.

It's really up to Bioware and they already said their main focus would be on the PC/XBox 360 for most of their titles. I don't even think they have a PS3 Dev Kit in their office. blackace

Inaccurate? WTH does that mean. No that doesn't help. What part of the rumour is inaccurate, is it the PS3 porting aspect, the being reveal at GDC part or are there general grammar mistakes the rumour. And what about ME 2 or 3. DarkyC

I am thinking of buying a PS3 just for that game...

I'd rather play the PC version of ME2 rather than a 360 or PS3 version.

ME on the 360 was great, but you could tell the interface was designed with PC more in mind.

I don't see the point in ME2 coming to PS3 anyway, unless ME1 goes there first, because it's a story driven game, and nearly none of the cows who will buy this for the PS3 will have played through the first. Those who have will already own a 360 or gaming PC and can play through it on those systems anyway.comeonthehoops
