EA is a terrible company. They ask their consumers (all of them, not just the vocal forum posters) what they want and then they try to implement it. They deserve all the hate they get!SushigluttonThe reason Dead Space still exists is because of the fan base. I don't recall them begging for co-op.

But EA made a survey and the result was that more people will enjoy the game if they add it (at least that's how they interpreted the results). So they decided to do that. Seems like a sound strategy to me.
Wait why are you people mad for? What's wrong with adding a co-op OPTION if single player is still there unchanged? :? Co-op isn't forced.

My thoughts exactly. As long as they don't implement AI co-op (RE5 I'm looking at you) then I couldn't care less...And like you said co-op play isn't forced. So why does it matter?
Pretty sure almost everyone just looks at how scary Resident Evil 5 was, a similar series where they decided to add co-op. And I'm less upset about co-op than I am cover mechanics and shooting people who shoot back. A statement like this sure doesn't help matters. Also, there's no way a co-op campaign doesn't effect single-player, it diverts resources, especially if they're supposed to be different.Wait why are you people mad for? good God. That has to be one of the worst things they've said. First of all the games aren't scary at all really and second they're trying to be scary because they were horror games. It's like saying we're making BF4 third person because previous BF games were too first person
well said, STOP MAKING CRAP UP EA Just recently i read tht firing people will help star wars the old republic grow. wtf??? Dead space is not scary, after the second one, it san action game. Stop makign crap ea. They also said that the first dead space was to have coop originally, wtf? originally it was a system shock sequel, but you couldnt get the rights. Slender, amnesida, sccp contaiment breach. We dont need AAA to make games scary, we need those big companies to stop making their games a sludge of identical shooters in order to get more sales.another reason why ea wants you too hate them

Apparently they just said that they put coop in dead space because it was too scary. DEAD SPACE? SCARY??? They also made another anouncement before that, that originall dead space was gonna have coop, when it actually was system shock 3, but couldnt get the license. EA should be renamed to BS.I can't believe EA is just this low, and it saddens me that some of my favorite franchises are in their hands.

"But she insisted fans of the series shouldn't be worried that the third game will drop its predecessors' scare tactics in favour of an all-out action approach."
And from what I understand the co-op is completely optional. But yeah, some of what she said was pretty stupid.

Diverts resources? Maybe who knows but let's not jump to conclusions yet.[QUOTE="m_machine024"]

It's almost as if the targeted demographics of video games are younger and dumber people as time goes on.
Before we all know it...
This will be considered a big-budget, AAA title on the market.
Yes. Extra. Not forced.[QUOTE="HalcyonScarlet"]
Co ops just an extra mode isn't it?

Whys everyone acting like EA has just eaten their hamster. :|
So,you make a game. A horror game. A scary game.
And now you go ahead and say that it's too scary,so we should add coop. Make it less scary.
:?
Well,COD has too much explosions,so we're letting ThatGameCompany handle the next COD.

Mr.Scruffles! No! :cry:The problem however is that Dead Space 1 and 2 weren't scary. Sure they could startle you, but it all just felt kind of silly how hard they tried to make it scary.
One small mistake in regards to this story: it's, uh, catagorically untrue. The real quote is that the game will be just as scary as the prior DS titles, with co-op serving to fill the void between the prior DS games and people who may like horror movies and the like, but only if they're watching it with someone else.
In fact EA is building a separate, tweaked version of the campaign for co-op so that they can retain as much of the horror and suspense as possible. So not only are people getting all uppity over a misquote, but one of the few examples of EA going above and beyond to make sure their game is as good as possible.
