Their new EA Sports´ engine Ignite isn´t coming to PC which means PC will get the new FIFA installment running on the old engine while xbox 1 and PS 4 will get an Ignite´s version.

Well...not a big deal. As we know, xbox1 is coming very weak and will need any boost it can get. What I can´t understand, why they release the Ignite engine on PS, too, because it will nullify any effort to screw PC.

Besides, this is not their first EA Sports´ attempt to screw PC. PC gamers finally caught up with the series current generation engine until FIFA 12. So this is not a first time.

Anyway I don´t care much about Fifa. They can keep their Ignite engine, we PC gamers, will keep our World domination :P

Source? Makes no sense. Will they build two versions of each game in different engines?

I don't see why they would bother. It's not like there's a massive FIFA PC following.

But Football Manager on the otherhand...

Okay, what's the business case? How many copies will they sell on each engine, what's the cost of porting Ignite to PC, what's the ongoing maintenance cost?

Low end PCs are the majority judging by the Steam Hardware Survey, so it makes sense from a business point of view.

Well...on PC it would sell more, but they won´t do that because otherwise people won´t buy next gen consoles. As I remeber, FIFA game are included into launch console boxes, because soccer is considered a traditional console game in most of the world (except US :P)

Steam stats isn't a very accurate way of finding the average specs of a core PC gamer's rig.

Also this. Sure, most core PC gamers will have a steam account but, 2 things: the hardware surveys are optional, and I personally don't know anyone who agrees to them, so I'm sure there are plenty more out there who don't, as well. And also, for every core gamer, with a solid midrange-high end PC and hundreds of games on steam, there's going to be about a dozen people with ancient systems, who have a steam account with nothing but Counter Strike and a couple F2P games.

Not surprising they dont sell aswell on the PC. They only put PC Fifa on the current gen engine like a year or 2 ago and were porting the PS2/Wii versions before that.It doesnt sell as well as its console counterparts so they take the cheaper route for a while til mid/late gen and start with the newer engine on PC. Its been like this since basicalyl the days of Fifa 2004. Nothing new, EA just doesnt want to pump money into it for little return im guessing.

Well. I don´t think it´s true today. PC version would sell more than xbox1 and PS4, but they don´t want to pit incipient next gen systems against always mature PC. Every copy sold on PC would mean not sold console unit. Fifa franchise  is a system seller because they are viewed as a traditional console game: couch, controller, playable with a friend.

thing is they wont, Fifa and consoles literally have been hand in hand with one another since the pretty much first one in 94.Hell even things like multiplayer just go much better on those and pretty much instilled as a huge part of them. They will continue being that, its like Jack D and Cola you just dont go playing with things that work well togethher.

No, you look like a fool for trying to lump me in with the rest of the idiots around here. That was your first mistake. Nothing awesome about sports games and I feel sorry for anybody that thinks there is something special about them. Get outside more and play those sports for real and suddenly those sports games look boring as hell. Last sports game I bought was Madden 2002.

Agreements with Sony and MS. Old-fashioned business practices. PC didn´t quite prove itself yet, so they stick to the old paths.

Pretty sure one year the PC had the first iteration of the next gen engine at the time. I think it was around Fifa 12.

Yeah, FIFA on the PC was on the PS2/Xbox engine until FIFA 12. So I'm guessing EA will do the same this-gen, keeping PC FIFA with past-gen engine for another three years or so.
