Well i placed a link and i was curious if any one's been banned yet? i would be shocked to think you buy 2000$ pimped pc or less either way and Bang game over lol.

Console bang game over....

Pc bang game over....

Now from what ive heard ea's not Patching this glitch they want you to use it at your own risk, it's on hardcore ive seen it been done, ok ok ill admit i ranked up 2 levels but didn't go any further how ever you percieve it i didn't do a crime did i?

lol but dam they ban your account indefinately so no way to "reconnect" no point buying "new game" well console anyway as they demand you sell it make more money off your evil soul lol

Devious tactic i say.

As this raises another question......

you exploit you pay the price, it might be heavy but you should never exploit in the first place, nor be an utter idiot on a forum either.Half the time these people end up banned because they run their mouth or cant play fairly.

Sure its not great but you gotta pay a price for everything.

the exploit is said to be known and will be removed with the first patch so really people that know they are using an exploit have no reason to be surprised if they get banned or reset.

The banning for cheating in game I can see, but I disagree completely with banning people for what they say on forums.

if your on a forum being a little idiot acting irresponsible, childish and generally a complete idiot by flaming admins then its more than your own fault if you got banned same goes for any forum why should developers be any diffrent.

I was on BC2's in the early day and there was so much whinging and flaming from idiots with one post it was horrible. Also none of them were constructive with their points either it came off like a toddler throwing a tantrum, cant converse and be constructive with your arguements then thats your fault for your attitude.Instead of going in a fit of rage and swearing your face off be constructive its not really a hard task unless your a spoiled brat.

apparently EA. Remember, if we claim ownership for a product we paid for we're being whiny.

i dislike losing to people that are glitching and using bug exploits. I do however think it is more of a problem for the pub/dev. They release a broken product, and punish users for using/finding them? I agree that they need to do something, but banning? Do you have any idea how many times I've accidentaly glitched in games? I would hate to see people lose their accounts based on this. - If someone uses boosting glitches or whatever, its usually pretty easy to tell by looking at their stats. and therefor, **** them. Their "rank" and "status" means nothing, whats the big deal? I have myself in the past glitched in gears 1. The original weapon slide. I tended to only do it when the other team was using it, but i fail to see why I should be banned for using it. the weapon slide remained, in one form or another throughout 3-4 patches. I find it hard to believe we should be punished for their incomplete work.

I don't see the need to cheat since you can easily get tons of points already just repairing armor legitimately... actually I've been doing a lot of legitimate repair it kind of has me scared.

^ which is a good attitude to have towards paying customers.

I doubt this will do much to curb hackers anyway. most have illegal copies anyway and are hiding behind 7 proxies.

I understand the companies covered their bottoms. We consumers do not have the luxury of swaying the law to our side by writing a few lines of jargon. I don't think a random EA worker with PMS should have authority on whether I am allowed to play my games today.

Should be a zero tolerance for hacks or exploits so good on EA. I remember tactical insertion nuke boosters on MW2.... That game was a joke.

Glitching for level up is lame. Why cant people just play the game and level up for playing it normally, you know, like everyone else. I feel sorry for someone that sits there with a friend shooting the EOD and repairing it for points. Why bother? having said that, EA should patch it, not ban people. Thats a little extreme for a mistake that belongs to DICE. I also found it quite amusing that this only hit the news after IGN released an article showng you how to do the glitch. Other gaming news sites wouldnt reveel how it was done. But IGN did, then people get banned lol.

Yeah I remember the one time I tried to get the nuke I just camped with RPD and scavenger claymores and got it third game, it's such a joke. Never boosted though, never will. In fact when there were boosters I had an anti-booster class with lightweight, marathon and sitrep (to spot tactical insertion) and I would make it my game mission to stop them at all costs :P It's funny how they would abuse you over the mic for stopping them though, like they are entitled to do it or something

I have no guarantee that that is the case. Companies aren't exactly likely to act in my best interest. We have conflicting goals, so they are not trustworthy.

Yeah, I agree. I'll admit I glossed the thread, but the gist of it is that ea is banning people FOREVER for cheating, right? That is perfectly acceptable, imo. Some of my favorite games I had to stop playing because of people exploiting things.

As I understand it they're wiping the stats of boosters and people exploiting design flaws and glitches. They're banning cheaters and hackers.

razgriz_101

Temp banning frequent exploiters from the multiplayer of that particular game would be justifiable, but you're defending EA permanently revoking access to all the games you've purchased tied to Origin due to a forum moderation...?

Actually I'm not clear on one thing, If your Origin account is banned, is that restricted to games and content downloaded through Origin, or does that extend to all games tied to your Origin account? As in, if you commit the horrible crime of trying to help people by linking to a video showing how to solve network issues, will you be unable to launch Battlefield 3 on PC as well as access any online functionality in Need for Speed The Run on 360?

signed a contract you did, read the TOS is a good thing then you learn and dont do that thing unless you suffer the consequences.WilliamRLBaker

A ToS may say the service provider has the right to arbitrarily cancel your account at its own discretion.
Or shave your cat and glue the hair to your face.

Doesn't make it right, or legal. But apparently to some of you the corporate interest is of greater importance than your own.

I wouldn't feel bad for anyone who cheats. Anyway, if I some how got banned I wouldn't care because I'm not that big a fan of the game. I got it as a birthday present, I wouldn't have got it otherwise.

Exactly, I don't see why you would get banned for this. So yeah you ranked up.. that's nice. Now you have the rank up stuff and one class fully unlocked, 3 more to go without the exploit. Who does this really hurt?

This. We pay for the game. We should be able to be banned for talking about its problems online with other users. Even if they just come in and start running their mouth "this game sucks because I hate it" nobody takes them seriously so don't give them the satisfaction.
