Well its pretty obvious to know that K/M is the Daddy of control schemes in FPS. Well i seen loads of people still proclaiming that Dual-Analogs is better than Wii-mote and that 1 is better than the other (Myself, I prefer Wii-motes infared pointer as its quicker to aim and isnt as sluggish). Simple solution to seeing which is the ultimate control method between these 2 is to play Golden Eye on the Wii as it allows both control scheme of dual-analogs and Wii-mote. This would give people a clear idea in which is best.

I like both, although shooting a dude in the face with a Wii-mote feels better.

Why wait to do a test when it can be done right now. Move isnt no more accurate than Wii-motes pointer and the classic controller is almost identical to PS controller. Though i dont think this could be a good comparison as with Mote vs controller as both killzone 3 and goldeneye have aim assist for controllers.

kb/mouse is best?

why would you turn a shooter into a point and click game?

if you want to make it easier to play why not just go ahead and get a touchscreen?

K/M = majority agree its the best control scheme for FPS. FACT!! Point and Click?! im on about fps and not broken sword or myst. You point to what you wanna aim at with whatever control method you use. I prefer a psyhical buttons over touch screen and i doubt it would be possible to get all the commands onto one screen.

If anything like the Wii-mote then your going to be very suprised on how quicky it is to aim and shoot against a normal controller.

Its different, not better. It's more difficult to turn quickly. Just playing Reach the other day and jetpacked over a dude, whipped around 180 degress and capped him a few times. With the Wiimote my shots would have been more accurate but I wouldn't have had the ability to turn so quickly. Dunno, Wiimote is great for aiming but I think Dual Analogue is probably still my favourite.

Riverwolf007

The general consensus is that using a mouse to instantly turn and aim directly where you want to fire, is better than using an analog stick to slowly turn in the vague direction of your target and rely on autoaim to do 75% of the work.

Reach any good?! Finished black ops earlier on 360 (4 and half hours). I enjoyed it but i wasnt flabbergasted. I know what you mean with slow turning on wii-mote. I just tried to come up with a sensible solution to the bickering of controller Vs Mote/move.

Wiimote is the funnest, KBM is the most accurate, and dual analog i dont mind because ive been using it since Timesplitters...but Wiimote and KBM are far superior.

Love it to bits. Sinlgle player is great, multiplayer is just about perfect. Only problem is the multiplayer maps, there's not that many and they aren't as fun as Halo 3's imo.

I'll tell you what the Easiest way is!

There needs to be a FPS game where you can play against people from every system.

Too bad there will NEVER be a game like that.

not sure i agree with that. After adjusting my controls in Goldeneye wii i'm able to do a 180 pretty darn fast. If you have the game i could post the settings i use and you could give it a shot :)

I hated Dual sticks back at the beginning of the 2000's. Thought it was weak and stupid compared to M&K. Since then, i've come around on them and gotten quite good at it, enjoying a number of shooters on my 360. But still, it's just not as fun as using a M&K. The wii controls give a new feel to FPS, something a little more similar to M&K and i've been a huge fan of it. It feels fresh and fun! If move controls work well for Killzone 3, i may actually purchase move.

lulz, here is my impression of everybodys responce to me commiting heresy and making fun of kb/m.

"blaaarrrrrghhakhak! EVERYBODY EVERYBODYEVERYBODY agrees kb/m is teh best and and and you like auto-aim u stinkin noob!"

look, the majorityalso agrees nascar, cheap beer and stuffing their faces with cheetos is the best thing ever also but i don't agree with them either.

i use kb/m and like it but just like everything else it's a preference.

the last online shooter i put any time into was battlefield 43 and i don't recall it having aim assist so tbo have no lue which games have it and which don't.

what this looks like is just another i am a pc elitest and everything i do is better than what you do sw topic.

I don't play many FPS on the Wii, but the aiming is usually better than with DA. Only problem is turning really - and for some reason I struggle with movement when I play shooters on the Wii - though I think that' just me getting used to the Wii inbetween playtimes.

I don't understand how anyone can think Wii mote > Dual analog

If you think its more fun? Whatever...who cares. However, I think it should be pure fact that Dual analog is faster and has more precession then the Wii mote. Having to point your gun to the side of the screen to turn is NOT fast or GOOD in any case.

If kz3's move aiming is anything like the wii's... DS3 owners would get slaughtered so bad that they'll prolly have to disable using move online

people using motion controls will be almost universally on the bottom of the list if the feature is enabled for online play, you can quote me on it.

if it matters, i'm always among the top online in goldeneye.

actually no. i heard the dual analog has some sort of assisted-aim or lock-on of sorts. yeah, sad. a better way would be to play a PC game using a wiimote+nunchuk and a traditional controller (just download the right drivers and install... even though i've been trying to play with my dualshock 3 and failing, despite the tutorials >.>)

i was talking about wii FPS with dual analogs. modern warfare reflex was pure "if you can't aim for yourself, you die". and it was awesome.

No. How can it be? With the Wii-more you point at the screen, with the DA you have to move the stick. Motion controls are more realistic and more precise for shooters.

The Wii set up is the most immersive one to me but it'll never be as accurate as the mouse because it's not on a stationary surface. I don't see dual analog as competition for the wii remote at all. It took developers a while to nail fps controls on Wii, but Goldeneye did it pretty damn well. It felt really responsive even on default settings and it doesn't have a fit if you accidentally point away from the screen.

What settings are you using for goldeneye?

Speaking of wii controls, i think that is one area that the conduit excelled in. Not only could you do so much tweaking but you could do it in game. That's such a simple thing, but it's so brilliant. Why aren't more wii shooters using that?

If they had an FPSgame that worked crossplatform between all the systems, I would bet money on the pc gamer every time. The precision and speed of a mouse and keyboard has yet to be matched on a console. I hope they do eventually add KB/M support for next gen consoles.

If they had an FPSgame that worked crossplatform between all the systems, I would bet money on the pc gamer every time. The precision and speed of a mouse and keyboard has yet to be matched on a console. I hope they do eventually add KB/M support for next gen consoles.

i agree with you until that last sentence, to which i must say "no, just no". want to play with a keyboard and mouse? get a PC.

If they do add keyboard and mouse support for any one of the next gen consoles I would be the first in line to buy one.I recall a prototype console that had a sorta keyboard mouse like setup that you could use when sitting anywhere which I thought was amazing.

Ahh here it is, from the old Phantom console....

kb/mouse is best?

why would you turn a shooter into a point and click game?

if you want to make it easier to play why not just go ahead and get a touchscreen?

seems to me you never played a shooter with keyboard and mouse in ur life. If u have never played a first person shooter or a controller or keyboard and mouse before in ur life, it's harder to learn how to play a shooter on keyboard and mouse than a controller.
