"It's definitely the case that the PS3 version has a collection of small technical advantages. Texture filtering is superior, the lighting model looks a bit more accurate, and the depth-of-field effect is more accomplished too (even compared to the PC version). Judging Dragon Age: Origins in terms of pure image quality, the PS3 version is the console version to have."

WoW. PS3 is showing itself as the true graphics power house again.

It's nice that the PS3 has the superior version of a multiplat, for a change.

The PS3 version has better loading times too, which wasn't even mentioned.

Also, as far as Framerate : "even the Microsoft platform struggles."

Obviously, PC is the best Bioware version (Go Figure) but now we can see guys your favortie EUROGAMER site has betrayed some of you...or is it that Gamespot's Kevin is right?

LOL yeah ok comparing a port not even made by SEGA with BioWARE who is more used to 360 than PS3. I think you lose on this one lemming.Sollet
That does not stop the 360 version of Bayonetta (nor the other 90% of multiplats )from being better on the 360. ;) It's not a big deal that the 360 has so many superior multiplats, but the PS3 having a single one, is as irrelevant as it can be.

The framerate drops aren are only noticable during cutscenes, and during gameplay you'll have to sit and stare at the screens to see a difference between 360 and Ps3 framerates.

Calling me a lemming shows just how much you really know. Pretty much nothing.

Second, DVD is what killed DA for the 360. I mean, really think about it. There are a lotof games out there for the 360 that look a lot better. It's a shame Bioware had to compress the game so much to fit on one disc. If you think it has anything to do with any hardware limitations, you're sadly mistaken.

Right. And just because Bioware makes good games, doesn't mean Bayonetta can't be a great game also. There is room for both. As far as the cows finally getting a game that looks better on the PS3, and offering that as solid proof that the PS3 is "far superior"; they still need to look at all of the other multiplats on the 360 that prove otherwise.

Notice how he says "Judging DA:O in terms of PURE IMAGE QUALITY" . . .Take in point this paragraph you FAILED TO MENTION:

"It's also fair to say that both console games aren't strong performers. Dragon Age: Origins is v-synced for better image consistency, but the frame-rate is extremely variable - anything from 15 to 30 frames per second depending on the scene being rendered. In this area the Xbox 360 game has the advantage. . ."

So it's quite simple. Do you want marginally better graphics or better framerate?

think of it this way, a ton of multiplats look better on the 360 and no one makes a big deal of it One game looks better on the Ps3 and fanboys keep hammering it in. Seems to me the playstation gets a free pass for some reason

i did, lol, i was really ****** that RE 4 went to the ps2 in the first place, that game was meant to save the gamecube from obscurity, which in my mind was the best console for exclusives last gen, the way capcom went about it was deplorable, they where contracted to do 3 games for the gamecube, they got around it by releasing the ps1 version of nemesis on the gamecube, which made 3, so they didn't have to keep RE 4 on the gamecube.

"In summary, technologically speaking the PC original is the winner here. While the PS3 version is closer to it in many ways, it can't make up for the frame-rate and the cut-down visuals, and the lack of utilisation of the Blu-ray storage space is peculiar. For Xbox 360 owners, the visual downgrade is a touch more impactful, but the game is less prone to the PS3 code's frame-rate drops.

Dragon Age: Origins remains a strong game wherever you play it to a greater or lesser extent, but the PC really is the place to be. The user interface is stronger, it looks much prettier and it's much more fun to play. Failing that, the console conversions are about equal; their technical differences essentially cancel each other out."

SolidTy

Or you could read the article and see that they rated the two console versions equally.

[QUOTE="PearlOfHeaven"] You're right, the majority don't mean anything. The Quality of bioware games means much more.PearlOfHeaven

Just pointing out, Bioware didn't make the console versions. Edge of Reality did. Bioware only made the PC version of DA:O.

Bioware developed Dragon Age.. :|

Your argument is based on console games. Bioware did not develop the console version of DA:O. They outsourced the work to Edge of Reality. They only produced the console versions. I'm just saying if you're trying to use the "track record" argument. . .understand that the final console versions quality of DA:O cannot be used because it's not done by Bioware.

[QUOTE="delta3074"][QUOTE="italygamer"]we're talking small differences here. I remember Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube that totally destroyed the ps2 version and no one made a big deal out of itkolkov01
i did, lol, i was really ****** that RE 4 went to the ps2 in the first place, that game was meant to save the gamecube from obscurity, which in my mind was the best console for exclusives last gen, the way capcom went about it was deplorable, they where contracted to do 3 games for the gamecube, they got around it by releasing the ps1 version of nemesis on the gamecube, which made 3, so they didn't have to keep RE 4 on the gamecube.

capcom's always been like that, remember the whole Darkstalkers exclusivity for the Ps1 debacle?

yeah, that was a joke as well, they did it lately as well, they made a statement saying all there games would be multiplat, what happened to the PS3 version of lost planet 2, there games are awesome, but they should reely make up there minds whether a game is going to remain an exclusive or not BEFORE they release a game.

Yes I noticed this too. It's funny that SolidTy builds himself as the manticore KING of SW. . .when little comments like theses show his Cow lean.

In multiple spots they pointed out that the 360's frame rate was better than the PS3's yet he key's in on 5 words about framerate. The Summary pretty well makes it clear that better PS3 visuals can't make up for the drop in framerate.
