THIs game is simply amazing and as close to a masterpeice as a videogame can be.

If you have a decent computer PLEASE give this fantastic game a go!

How gamespot gave it such a low score i will never know.

The most epic videogame ive ever played in my life. And this is coming from someone who isnt that big of a strategy fan.

I feel sorry for anyone who is going by gamespots review score for this game, dont listen to them, just give it a try yourself.

I really want to play this game too, and I am a strategy fanboy so I guess I'll love it even more. But unfortunetly my PC sucks by current standards. :?

DId you not read what i said? Im not a big strategy or RTS fan either, infact its probably my least favorite genre. But Empire is a classic/masterpeice that even non RTS gamers should try.

And i dissagree with its score. THis is the best videogame in YEARS and it gets a 8.5. Its at least a 9.5 imo.

This isnt just a Good or Great game, this is top notch videogame goodness, the cream of the crop so to speak.

Try playing the game and you might notice that it deserves a far better score:)

the demo seemed a little slow and boring for my taste, so i personally would agree with the 8.5 but it graphically looks awesome, and i can see how people can rate it 10.Mckenna1845

I didnt like the demo, there was long loading times. The full version fixed all of that. How can you give a score to a game when youve jsut played a OLD demo build? Try teh full game mate, trust me, its MILES better then that old demo build. The demo also only shows a very small portion of the game. I would rate the demo 7/10 and the full game 9.5/10. Just my opinion.

i'd agree with the GS review, the AI is way to passive, im at war with a few nations, mostly minor ones, but sweden also all they do is sit there, except for sweden they bockaded a port of mine no attacks at all against meshadow_hosi

austria recently declared war on me in my prussian game I started today

well aperantly it was only for **** and gigles since they did nothing for 10 turns and left all cities on the border without a garison...

take away the bugs and the AI and the game is a 9-9.5

but sadly they are there, so 8.5 at most

althrough i don't understand the removal of certain features from M2:TW especialy if the freaking code to implement them is there in the files (yes I am talking about the family tree) and naval invasions from the AI are (again) missing. Oh and we are back to clone wars of Rome total War, aperatly modeling more than 1 face per unit like in M2:TW is hard

the game feels rushed atm, I hope some patches will fix this

once again..... done base your opinion of hte full game on teh demo. The demo was A VERY OLD version. Like i said above, the demo wasnt impressive at all to me, BUT THE FULL GAME IS AMAZING! THe problems in the demo are fixed and also the demo only showed the fighting part of hte game, not the strategic part of the game.

Anyone who doesnt buy this game based on a half year old demo/beta build is beign foolish imo.

I've played the first one and it was great.

I have been wanting to try that for awhile and see how it stacks up against franchises like Age of Empires 3 or something. :)

It is a fantastic game and in a few months it will be even better, once they patch it and what not. Also for people who claim the AI is passive, I just want to know if you have lost any of your battles in the current wars you are fighting. I'm not sure if the AI does this all the time, but once I lost a battles to the Mughals as the Maratha's and after that Mysore immediatly declared war. Since this was not exactly a good thing for my situation, I loaded up my last save and reinforced the town that I lost to Mysore and then won the battle with the Mughals, and to my surprise Mysore did not invade.

You should try Rome, it's excellent, should be cheap and will run on most systems. Unless that's what you mean, which is not the first one.

so what scale are the view of the battle on ? Like super far away like in most RTS where you cant really see any action or does it get close up ?because all the screens show soldiers up close does it go into this view or something like in Advance wars when going into battle ? b/c that 500 feet away view really turns me off of RTSSonic_on_crack

Thats being kind.Imo the AI is borderline-broken.Even on the hardest setting this game is a breeze(and I'm not to hot when it comes to RTS's btw).

Best RTS in ages I would say yes. Even tho I haven't played, I still saw the beauty in this game. Full of epic win. But BEST GAME in ages doesn't sound right.xsubtownerx

It's definitely the best game I've played in a long time, and the best game in the series so far. It's got a lot of problems, but on the other hand, it does a lot of things right. Oh, and please stop calling it an RTS. :?
