Empire: Total War Retail OUTSELLS Halo Wars and Killzone 2 in the UK!

But teh PC games don't sell! :cry: REMEMBER. these numbers are just RETAIL, and include no Digital Distribution, whatsoever. If you add those in, Empire: Total War completely wiped the floor with EVERY other game last week.

Good result for Sega this week with Empire: Total War, the Creative Assembly PC sequel debuting at number one in the UK chart.

Killzone 2 was straight down to second place, and Halo Wars is off at fifth.

I'm almost done with the Road to Independence campaign, I'm owning the British. :twisted: I'm glad it's doing so well; it deserves it.

Still playing it now and am loving it. If GS doesn't give it a 10, then they have absolutely no taste in games. This is one of the best games I have ever played in about 15 years of gaming.

I envy everyone that has it. I've been wanting it so bad, to play the RtI campaign and not only rip the Britskies to shreds but going further and conquering all of Europe. xD

To be fair, this is a massive game that will take weeks to actually play properly.

Total War is their most-highly rated current-gen franchise, they know not to dilute its quality by forcing it to be multi-platform.

They only publish it, the developer itself is independent.

Good to see games with deep gameplay, long singleplayer campaigns, and scale outselling shallow, unoriginal, and short titles. As it should be.

yet I've seen nobody buy this game in store. I've been to my local game store only to find loads of copies still on the shelves with everyone ignoring it. It saddens me :cry:

you can't be sure, empire might have half its sale on digital distribution, and Empire might still be selling 3 years from now due to its high system requirements, it will for sure be the "crysis" kind of game, people buy the game when they update their pc, or when they buy their new PC. Even taking all these into consideration, Halo wars didn't rank much higher than amazon US on launch day. And might even be losing in some country's chart!

so you can't be sure halo wars will sell more than Empire in the long term, don't over estimate its numbers.

Except for the whole thing where Games for Windows games means nothing in regards to microsoft. If anything, its an added expense to Microsoft because they pay for advertising while receiving no royalties or licensing fees for GfW sales.

That still doesn't change how you dont factor in the PC when its not convenient for your "i.e. PS3 vs 360 exclusive" but you will fator the PC in when it benefits the 360.

Your PC needs Windows OS, the box says Games for WIndows, regardless of what it means to MS. Your our brother, we both need MS to play our games, deal.

WHy would I factor in the PC to 360/PS3 debates????? Its 360 and PS3 ONLY. When I list games like Mass Effect and Gears of War, I am listing the 360 version, there is no mention of PC.

as a longtime pc gamer i could careless how many copies a game sells this doesnt mean it will be good for grr320 i dont like rts so im never gonna play this lol
